Beware of a fraudulent call pretending to be from Santander's fraud team! They’ll claim that your account has been compromised and urge you to add a new payee. They’ve cleverly faked a legitimate Santander number, so don’t be deceived. Just inform them you’ll be reporting this to the authorities and promptly hang up. Stay vigilant!

First I got a call from some bloke named Thomas, who then handed me over to a guy called Andy Lawson. I’ve just fallen for one of those Evri text scams where they claim to be from the Santander fraud department. They wanted me to open a new bank account and move my money there to supposedly keep it safe. They were really pushy and kept me talking for almost an hour, like 58 minutes! After I finally ended the call, they rang me back about 17 times before I blocked the number. Total scam, just hang up and block it straight away!

What a nightmare! Someone rang my mum from this number and managed to keep her chatting for like two and a half hours. He said he was from Santander - seems like that’s his usual trick. Honestly, he wouldn’t give up at all. Proper nasty person.

Got three calls one after the other. When I picked up the first time, some bloke said he was from the MET police. Considering I got scammed not long ago, I reckon it was the same person having another go using a different story.

My phone bill shows I was on the line for 1 hour and 2 minutes with 03306781783, and they still charged me £3.61. The frustrating part is I have a contract that should cover calls!

I've had three other calls this month on my mobile, which I barely share with anyone. They seem to have my landline too.

So, someone rang a colleague of mine asking them to get in touch with me because they said they’d tried calling. I ended up popping down to my local Santander branch and got my cards blocked straight away. Apparently, whoever it was tried to set up a £7000 overdraft and claimed I’d spent over £1000 in TK Maxx, while they also said they saw I was at Argos. Proper dodgy!

Scammer on the line. They’ll attempt to persuade you that they represent your bank and are addressing some dubious transactions on your account. Just disconnect!

Got a text supposedly from Santander about a payment from my bank. When I told them I was hanging up, they told me to “shut up, just shut up” - total scammers. Tried calling Santander to report it, but I can’t seem to get through to them at all.

So this lot had somehow got hold of my bank details and tried pulling a scam on me. They wanted me to give them a One Time Passcode for a supposed transaction of £1,000, saying they’d cancel it. I told them I wasn’t happy with this at all and that if it was real, I’d just ring the bank myself and someone else could sort it out. They kept going on and on, but I stood my ground and said no.

I experienced something quite similar! Afterward, I rang up Santander to share the last bit, and the customer service lady couldn’t help but chuckle! 😂

I couldn't believe it when the caller kept harping on about some code, despite my screen clearly stating ‘Do not share this code with Santander staff'. Then, the cheeky bugger messages, ‘Well, it seems you've just splurged on £400 worth of dildos, what do you think of that?’ and just like that, the line went dead. What an odd encounter!

I've received a right dodgy call, and it seems they’re trying to pull a fast one by using my bank details which they must have sourced from somewhere. They wanted me to share a One Time Passcode for a transaction of a grand, claiming they could “cancel” it. I firmly said, “No way, I'm not comfortable with this at all, and if it's on the level, I’ll speak to my bank directly.” They just kept going, which was absurd!

Some bloke rang me pretending to be from Santander, claimed I was tied up in a scam and told me to delete a message from a company I’d been buying a mug from. He wanted me to open a new account for them or something dodgy. I just ended the call straight away and phoned Santander on my own to check. Also moved all my dosh to another account so they couldn’t get to it. If you get calls like this, best just hang up sharpish!

I also moved all my funds to another account so they couldn’t get to it. If you get a call like this, just hang up straight away!

It appears that the number in question is indeed from Santander:
Check this link: https://www.santander.co.uk/business/support/borrowing-and-finance/managing-your-credit-card It states, "Should you require assistance with your request, please contact the Business Banking helpline at 0330 678 1783."
Nonetheless, it seems that there are some unsavoury characters masquerading using this number, as I just received a text stating that I had opened a new bank account, which is utterly untrue.

I received a rather dubious text from what appeared to be a fraudulent NHS site. Upon clicking the link, they insist that I cough up £1 for postage. After that payment is processed, I got a phone call purportedly from Santander, claiming my accounts had been breached by a scammer. They urged me to verify all my accounts and went on to demand that I transfer them the exact sum the scammer allegedly aimed to pilfer, which was stated as two Direct Debits of £4,000. They were incredibly pushy and simply wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. It reeks of a classic scam!
