Total scam! They pretended to be from Barclays, saying they were verifying a transaction and told me to give them a ring. Just avoid them completely - best to steer clear!

Got a message on my phone claiming I needed to finish an Expedia transaction. They told me to ring this number if I hadn't made the purchase. Definitely some kind of scam.

Got a text out of the blue saying I'd bought something from Amazon and to ring a number if it wasn't me. Pretty clear it was a scam, no way I made any order.

Got a text from 07821224258 with a one-time password supposedly for a £530 purchase at GC Autos. It told me to ring 0330 533 0417 if I hadn’t made the purchase. Didn’t respond and reported it instead.

Got a text outta nowhere with an OTP saying there was a £480 Revolut payment made by me. They told me to ring 0330 533 0417 straight away if it wasn’t me. Didn’t bother replying, just reported it. These scammers are really the worst.

Got a message from Barclays saying my OTP code was 621415 to finish a payment of £530 to ARG0S. If I didn’t request it, they told me to ring 0330 533 0417. Seems really fishy to me!!

Just got a message from that exact number, same as you.

Got a text from this number earlier, it said something about a John Lewis payment of £730. I called back and there was a recorded voice that said it was Barclays. They sent me some sort of OTP to approve the transaction or said to call them on that same number. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I just got a text saying my OTP is 621415 to finish a payment of £730.00 to John Lewis. But I didn’t buy anything from them. If anyone else got this or knows what’s going on, get in touch with 0330 533 0417 because I think it might be a scam!

Got a message saying "Your OTP is 621415 to finish a purchase of £730.00 to J0HN LEWlS." If you didn’t make this purchase, apparently you should ring 0330 533 0417. Total scam, though. John Lewis would never send a text spelling their name funny like “J0HN Lewis” with a zero instead of an O - they’re always super careful with spelling!

Got a text saying "Barclays - Your OTP is 621415 to approve a purchase of £530.00 at ARG0S. If you didn’t make this, ring 0330 533 0417." The funny thing is, I don’t even have an account with Barclays. What a bunch of muppets trying to scam people!

Got a message from 07729 748153 claiming to be Barclays, saying my OTP was something for an Argos buy. The text told me to ring 0330 533 0417 if it wasn't me. Thing is, I don’t even bank with Barclays. Total scam, probably. I reckon these scammers deserve the worst after they’re gone, like some sort of eternal punishment or something. Sounds about right to me!

So, I just booked an Airbnb like an hour back and then received a text from 074840578290 with a one-time password, saying my payment to Airbnb was done. It also told me to call a 0330 number if I didn’t make the purchase. Thing is, the amount mentioned for the Airbnb payment doesn’t match what I actually paid. Feels like a scam to me.

Got a text today, 01/07/23, claiming I'd asked for a "new card" to be sent to the postcode BN12PG (Brighton). It said to call +443305330417 if I hadn’t made that request. Pretty obvious scam trying to steal my bank details, so I ignored it straight away. I don’t use online banking and never plan to. This kind of scam just shows how much safer the old-fashioned High Street banks are... though, it’s annoying that they keep shutting branches, probably to boost profits even if it means making things harder for customers.
