I had a call today from this number but, as I did not recognise it, I didn’t answer. It rang 3 times within a few minutes and then a message from “James from Homesure” was left on my answering machine regarding renewal for insurance for my household appliances. I don’t have any and never have!! I have blocked the number. Scam!

This morning I got two calls from this number. I missed the first one but they rang right back, so I picked up the phone. The bloke said he was calling about some insurance for kitchen appliances. I told him I didn’t have any insurance, but he insisted I did. I said if I do, I won't be paying a penny. Then he said he’d post me some info and I’d get it within 2 or 3 days. Later, a mate was over and she reckoned it sounded like a scam to her.

There's this lot doing scams offering home appliance insurance, mainly going for older and more vulnerable folks. Honestly, they're the lowest of the low.

Don't fall for it, it's a scam! If you get dodgy calls, text the number and info about the scam to 7726. This helps your phone network spot and flag scam numbers, but only when loads of people report the same one. Just make sure you don't report legit numbers to 7726 by mistake. You can also pass on any scam texts to that number, and it's a good idea to email a screenshot to the police at '[email protected]' so they can look into it.

Got a call from James at Homesure. No proper contract was ever given. A while back, we sent a letter to their chartered accountant since there was no other way to reach them or get their address. They’re still trying to con an elderly family member into handing over money for some ‘renewal’ fee.

Got a call just now from some bloke pretending I’m tied into some contract with a firm named Homesure - doesn’t even exist! When I asked his name, he wouldn’t say and hung up straight away, probably 'cause I called him out as a con artist. From what I dug up, his name might be Liam Moore and he’s somewhere in Brighton. I told him I’d be reporting him again to Trading Standards. It’s awful how he tries to frighten people, especially the elderly, into handing over cash. Proper nasty business.

I nearly fell for a scam with this number! Just a heads-up for everyone. The person on the line claimed they were calling to renew my washing machine insurance, insisting it had lapsed. What a load of rubbish! My machine is practically brand new, being just three months old. Stay vigilant!

The bloke was quite courteous. He was trying to get our payment info updated since our usual card was past its expiry date. I told him straight up I don’t deal with “cold calls.” He seemed a bit miffed and tried to argue his call wasn’t cold at all. Ended up hanging up on him.

Got a call from a young bloke on 03305001780 about paying for our Domestic & General white goods insurance renewal. He seemed pretty clued up, mentioning the exact model and the date our cover was due to expire. When I asked what the payment included, he said it covered us for three years protecting against repairs, parts, call outs and labour charges. Got a call from 03305001780, bloke sounded quite upbeat and said he was from Home Serve or maybe Home Sure, can’t recall exactly. Said something about an extended warranty on our fridge and oven running out soon. Nonsense really, we don’t have any warranty like that. The woman claimed they hadn’t received payment and threatened to send bailiffs if she didn’t sort it out. It was obviously dodgy since she never bought any extra warranty, and the appliance is well past its original coverage period.
