Got a call from a number really similar to one I know but with a different last digit. Decided to block it since I reckon it’s just some scam.

Got a call from an overseas call centre, they were asking for me by name and claimed it was about a car finance query I supposedly made. Thing is, I never did any such thing! Total scam, I just hung up on them straight away. I've also reported it to Ofcom.

I've had calls from this number multiple times now. The person on the line said they were checking if my life insurance was still valid, especially if I've had any new health issues since getting the policy. Despite their insistence that they weren't a scam, I wasn't up for answering any questions. The caller spoke with a British accent, but I wasn’t willing to take any chances and asked them to stop ringing me.
