On 12th Jan 2025, I got a message from Pulse saying, "A purchase for £123.61 happened on 09/09/2024 at 11:27 GMT at AMZN MKTP UK AMAZON.CO in UK. If this isn't you, ring 0330 3333 073." But I checked both Pulse and Amazon, and there's no record of any purchase like that on that date. It’s strange why they’d send this message now, after more than four months. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Dodgy callers can easily fake their numbers sometimes. The number you see here actually comes from the texts Newday sends you (if you’ve signed up) to alert you when a transaction happens - and they tell you to ring it if anything looks fishy. So if you get a call from it, be careful. Their fraud team says they only call if you ignored a text and they still think something’s wrong.

Got the exact same letter about a Fluid card application that loads of others seem to have got. I phoned the number and gave my info, but then I felt really uneasy, wasn’t sure who I was actually talking to. So, I decided to contact NewDay’s main office using the number from their official website and gave them the reference number from that letter. They told me my first call was genuine and that all my details were safely on file. If you’re at all suspicious, I’d suggest ringing their head office direct and reporting it as a potential fraud.

Oddly enough, this number is legit and belongs to Fluid. I was a bit worried it might be a scam when I got a letter about someone trying to get credit using my name. So, I called the number listed on Fluid’s official site. They confirmed the letter was real and the number is their actual fraud hotline.

Watch out, folks! I bet some of you have got a letter from New Day Fraud Operations, saying someone applied for credit using your name. Check out page 3 of that letter! No legit company would ask for so much private info just to confirm your identity, especially not asking for original documents!!

I've found myself in a similar predicament. A letter regarding a credit card application landed in my mailbox as well, and now I’m rather at a loss as to how to report this. It’s perplexing, as I've been inundated with similar letters from various financial institutions!

I recently got a letter about a credit application supposedly made in my name. My husband attempted to ring them on 03303333073 but they were utterly unhelpful. When I tried to reach out to them the following day, it was as if the phone was completely ignored. I'm convinced it's some sort of scam or fraudulent activity. By calling them, we only confirmed that they have my address correct. For anyone reading this, steer clear of them! 😡

Today, I got a rather alarming letter from Marbles/NewDay, linked to this phone number. It seems someone’s gone and opened a credit card account in my name without my consent. I jumped straight on the phone to speak with them, not bothering to verify the number first. They informed me that an account had been opened on the 18th of October and recommended I reach out to CIFAS to safeguard my personal information. If they were the ones committing fraud, why on earth would they even suggest contacting CIFAS? It’s quite baffling, isn’t it?

Got a letter saying someone tried to get credit using my name, telling me to ring 03303333073 to confirm. Along with it was a form asking for way too much personal stuff, like how long I've lived at my address, passport and all, and they want the actual originals, not copies! Couldn’t be more obvious. Stay well clear of this one!

This is for real. It’s the Fraud team from Newday Card (the ones linked to Amazon, BIP and all that). Got a letter from them, and I’d already contacted them after noticing some dodgy activity when checking my Experian credit report. Turns out my identity had definitely been stolen, and they verified the info without me having to give away any more personal details.

I just got a letter from Newday fraud team. It said someone applied for credit using my name and asked me to ring the number they've given, which I saw in some posts here. They're also wanting copies of my passport, driving licence or utility bills. I've tried logging onto their website 3 times but it keeps crashing. The letter came in two bits, each showing a different address - one from Leeds and another from London. Honestly, if their site doesn’t work, it feels like it might be a scam to me.

Really strange, not sure I trust it. Got a letter from Marbles saying there's some credit in my name. The address is wrong and the surname is off too. I phoned Marbles and they said the credit was declined, which is a relief. They advised me to report it to CIFAS so it doesn’t keep happening. But since the name they used isn't right, it’s like it doesn't even exist. CIFAS wants you to pay to protect a name that's not even mine. Proper odd situation.

I've received a credit card, and honestly, it seems like a right faff. I took the liberty of checking out the address in Morley, Leeds, only to find a 'To Let' sign flapping away outside. I tried ringing them up, but funnily enough, they won't engage in conversation. All they want is for you to download their app and fork over all your personal details to activate the card. It’s high time the authorities shut these charlatans down!

New Day is the firm that does the marbles credit card. Somebody tried to get a credit card using my name but they caught it. I chatted with a really helpful rep who was proper nice, much better than my experience with Barclaycard when I had a similar problem. Seems pretty legit to me.

Got a letter like that too, so I looked up NewDay and saw that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the States went after NewDay Financial, LLC for misleading mortgage ads and shady kickbacks. Also, seems like scammers browse sites like this one and post fake positive reviews.

03303333073 I got a letter from Marble saying someone tried to open a credit card in my name. I rang the number and talked to a bloke who promised to report it to CIFAS, which I think might already have me down as a fraud victim. After the call I felt a bit iffy reading the reviews here, so I looked up Marble myself and called their official number. When I got put through to the fraud team, it was the same guy, so it seems to be genuine.
