I had a similar thing happen, they asked me for a puk code, said it was for a number I had saved. Turns out it was to unlock from EE. Now I'm caught in a 2 year contract, apparently that's what they told me, and they've slapped on a £32 fee for breaking it. Not a happy camper at all!
