I recently switched my daughters EE pay as you go sim over to a contract and straight away she started getting these daily texts around 9.15pm inviting her to join some quiz that seems to charge £4.50 just to enter. It happens every single night and honestly feels like harassment. My only suspicion is that EE might have shared her number without asking.

Be careful with the number 03302231767, it sends texts from 85222 and charges £1.50 straight to your phone, even if you dont open the message! Pretty sneaky if you ask me.

Just received a text telling me I'm signed up to 'voucher me' charging £4.50 weekly unless I text stop to 85450. There's also a support number, 03302231767, included. Not sure how I got on this subscription.

I was just updating my profile on Win10 when suddenly I was bombarded with a website called "google.co.uk." Next thing I knew, loads of tabs were opening up one after another with different competitions popping up everywhere. After struggling to close all six windows, I got annoyed and entered one of the competitions offering an Apple iPhone 7. At first, I thought, "Wow, this sounds too good to be true." Turns out, it’s a total scam just to grab your info and then sell it on to other sites. Plus, if the phone is free, the contract fees are ridiculous - something like £60 a month! I just gave them a throwaway Gmail account so their spam won’t get through at all.

Crikey, this blimmin’ number keeps pinging me every Tuesday with the same old drivel. It's as if someone’s set a timer! I get three messages all bundled together, and they go like this: 1) Join our weekly quizzes, rack up points, and clinch a spot in the finals for a shot at that Voucher! Just ensure your WAP settings are spot on! For more info: 03302231767 2) We’ll give you a bell if you win the voucher, cheers! 3) The Voucher is a quiz that anyone, young or old, can have a go at, where you could bag vouchers for Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Amazon, and loads more! Now, don't even think about replying, unless you fancy getting robbed by those extortionate PREMIUM RATES. I only realised because Vodafone had a natter with me, mentioning I’d racked up over £15 in text charges within just a week - all while I’m on an "All Inclusive" plan for calls, texts, and data! During that chat, Vodafone assured me they’d slap a phone block on any premium number shenanigans. But, lo and behold, just six days later, another text arrives!

Blimey, this number just won't let up! Every Tuesday without fail, I get bombarded with messages that come through as a trio, all of which are rather annoying. Here’s what they say: 1) Join in on our weekly quizzes, rack up some points, and you might just make it to the finals for a chance to scoop that voucher! Don’t forget to check your WAP settings! More info: 03302231767 2) If you win the voucher, we’ll give you a bell. Cheers! 3) The voucher is a quiz aimed at everyone, young and old, no matter your background, and you could snag vouchers for Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Amazon, and a whole lot more! If you even think about replying, be prepared for some outrageous PREMIUM RATES. I found that out the hard way, as Vodafone reached out, baffled by the £15 I somehow racked up on texts in just a week-even though I’ve got an “All inclusive calls, text, data contract.” During my chat with Vodafone, they assured me they’d place a block to stop any premium number communications. Yet, wouldn’t you know it? Just six days later, another text popped up. What a palaver!

Blimey, this number keeps bombarding me with messages every Tuesday, and they arrive in what feels like a miniature trilogy. Their contents are as follows: 1) Join in on the weekly quizzes, rack up some points, and you could make it to the finals for a chance to WIN a voucher! Don’t forget to check your WAP settings! For more details, ring: 03302231767. 2) If you're lucky enough to win, we'll give you a bell. Cheers! 3) Our voucher quiz caters to all ages and backgrounds, offering you the chance to snag vouchers for Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Amazon, and a whole lot more! Attempting to respond is a wallet nightmare, with eye-watering PREMIUM RATES attached. I discovered this the hard way-Vodafone highlighted my account, revealing I had racked up over £15 in just seven days, all while on an "All-in-one calls, texts, and data plan." In my conversation with Vodafone, they assured me they'd set up a block to prevent any communications with these premium number services. Yet, lo and behold, just six days later, here came another pesky text!

Hey, this number has been charging me for more than a year now, and I'm trying to get my money back. Has anyone got an email contact for them? Got a message from Tesco about some play voucher thing. They charged me 2 quid again and I don’t know how to stop it because I can’t send STOP or anything. What am I supposed to do to make them quit taking money?

Just got a message from 85222 that I didnt ask for. It said something like: Freemsg: Mr Montgomery, text YES to confirm you want your chance at a £750 Tesco Voucher! Check voucher.me.uk if interested. If you didn't sign up just ignore it. The number was 03302231767. Seems dodgy to me.

Don’t pick up on this one, it’s dodgy. As soon as you do, they’ll nick £1.50 straight from your phone bill. Plus, the site they point you to is just an empty page! The text I got said something like: “FeMsg: Mrs Motolese, reply YES to claim your chance at a £750 Tesco Voucher! via voucher.me.uk. If you didn’t ask for this, just ignore it.” The number it came from was 03302231767.

Just lately, I lost my mum and to make things worse, these phones keep ringing with messages telling me I've won stuff I never signed up for. Honestly, it's so annoying!

Got a text telling me I’m signed up to txtwinner and it’s gonna cost me £3 a week unless I text STOP85222 back. I’m not replying and planning to keep an eye on my bill, might contact my phone company about it. Surely they can’t keep charging me if I just ignore it, right?

Had the same thing happen to me - got a text saying to reply and win an iPhone. I tried to text STOP but it never went through, so I gave them a ring. As soon as an automated voice started asking for info, I just hung up. Then I checked out the link they sent (HTTP://goo.gl/sYwyju), and it said you had to text STOP to 88833 to unsubscribe. Not sure if it worked properly. The site also mentioned it would charge £4.50 per week! From their Terms: By joining this £750 competition subscription, you pay £4.50 weekly until you text STOP to 88833 anytime. The prize is £750 cash you can use on a Tesco voucher. Must be 16 or older to enter. You'll get one question a week, with a £750 prize, winners picked at random from correct answers. Competition ends Wednesday. Full Terms & Conditions available. Need help? Call 03302231767. The competition is run by textwinner.

I'm dealing with a very similar issue. Every now and then, about twice a week, I get these texts and each time they swipe £1.50 from my pay as you go credit, even though I never signed up for anything. The first message had a link promising a chance to win an iPhone 6, and I'd clicked it out of curiosity, but there was no mention of any charges involved. Since then, they've kept sending me these texts, and even when I ignore the links, they still take £1.50 from my balance every time. I tried replying with STOP to the number they use, but the message never goes through - comes back as failed. It's gotten to the point where topping up my phone now stresses me out and scares me. I keep getting texts saying I've won an iPhone 6s, but I never even took part in any contest. How do I get these messages to stop coming to my phone?

I received a text saying I could win an iPhone6 if whoever owns 07404602117 enters me, Abdulhak bin hussain, into the draw.

I just received a text saying I might win an iPhone6 if whoever owns 03302231767 could put my name in the draw. If someone could help me out with this, that'd be great. Cheers, James Davies.

How can I find my mobile number?

I really don’t get these messages, I’m an elderly disabled person and these annoying texts don’t help me at all. They just keep coming, even though I can’t afford to pay the £1.50 charge. It’s been sent to me half a dozen times now. Honestly, it feels like they’re just taking advantage of older people like me.

For a while now, I've noticed my pay-as-you-go phone credit disappearing way quicker than it should, but I couldn’t work out why. Turns out, there were £3 charges happening regularly, but I wasn’t sure exactly how often. When I decided to switch providers and asked for a PAC to keep my number, O2 informed me that some site called txtwinner.com was taking money from my account. I’ve never heard of them before and don’t take part in any online gambling or competitions. I’ve sent a text saying STOP to the number they gave me, hoping that stops the deductions. Now I’m waiting to hear from O2 about the total amount that’s been taken. If I can, I’m thinking about trying to get that cash back from txtwinner.com!

Honestly, if you actually get tricked by this, you kinda have to take the blame yourself.

Hey there, I got some emails and texts telling me I won an iPhone 6. I'm not really sure if it's legit or just a scam. Can someone help me figure it out? Thanks a lot, Amir.

I've reached out to them multiple times asking to stop these messages on my phone, but every time I get one, it costs me £1.50 even though I never signed up for any of it.

Just got a message saying "Answer the question below and you could win an iPad2!" but then it says it’s a subscription and will charge you £3 a week. Looks like a sneaky way to get you signed up for something costly. Watch out for these kinda offers!

I got a text saying I need to confirm my spot for the new iPhone 6 from txtwinner.co.uk. The message had the number 88833 and the phone number they mentioned was right there in the text too.

About 03 Numbers

A lot of organizations utilize 03 numbers instead of the pricier 08 numbers. For example, many public sector organizations have moved from 0845 numbers to 0345. The cost of calls is the same as calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). The charges for calls are influenced by the time of the day, and most providers provide call packages that allow calls free of charge during certain times of the day. The cost of calls from mobiles vary based on the selected calling plan. Usually, these calls are included in free call packages.
