Got a recorded call claiming to be from HMRC saying I’m involved in fraud and if I don’t press 1 right away, I’ll be arrested! Rang the police on 101 to check and turns out it’s a scam targeting mainly older people. Thankfully, I’m not elderly but it’s still really upsetting for those who are. I was advised to report the number and spread the word on social media. If you do press 1, you might get hit with a big phone bill or worse, keep getting harassed by these scammers, who are thought to be overseas!
