I received a robocall purporting to be from HM Revenue and Customs, claiming I was implicated in fraudulent activities. They threatened that if I didn’t hit '1' on my phone straight away, I would face arrest! I contacted the police via 101, and they confirmed it’s yet another scam targeting the elderly - not that I fit into that category, mind you! It’s causing a significant amount of worry for those who do. I was advised to report this number and spread the word on social media. Be warned, if you do press '1', you might end up with exorbitant charges or, even worse, become a target for continual harassment from these scammers, who are suspected to be operating from overseas!
