Got a ring from someone saying they were from BT, but the call was actually from India. They tried to convince me to let them into my laptop and other gadgets, saying it was to remove some ‘7 unauthorised users’. Total scam! Watch out folks, they’re after remote access just to nick your cash!!

Got a call from this number earlier today. I answered with a quick "hello" but there was nothing but silence for a few seconds. Just as I was about to end the call, a lady finally spoke, said "hello" then just cut off straight away. Weird experience.

I got a call again from someone saying they were from Microsoft, this time from the number 02986228982. I’d already hung up on them before but they kept ringing back. They were really pushy, going on about how my computer was at risk of being hacked. No matter how much I said I don’t let strangers on my PC, they just wouldn’t back off. Proper irritating and honestly feels a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming my computer was at risk and I needed to open it up so she could fix it. I told her I wasn’t comfortable with that, but she insisted I had to go to Reading with my IP or else I’d lose access. I just laughed it off and told her to stop being silly, then she just ended the call.

Got a call from 01256231438 at 10:14 on 10/10/23 but didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail or anything. Then, just four minutes after, 03301900622 rang me. That number seemed a bit familiar so I answered it. The woman on the other end said my name, but I kept quiet about it and asked her twice who she was. Suddenly, the call just dropped. Pretty sure both these calls are connected and some sort of scam.

Got a call claiming to be from the Sky tech team, saying there was a problem with my internet. They wanted me to fiddle with my router, but I told them if they were really from Sky, they should send me an email first. They said they couldn’t send an email and insisted that I had to fix it myself. When I told them it sounded like a scam, the caller just hung up on me.

Received a call from this number, along with a few others, all purporting to be from Sky. It’s always the same lady on the line; she greets me with “Hello, ma’am, I’m ringing regarding your Sky broadband.” I simply hung up! Firstly, Sky doesn’t just ring you out of nowhere. Secondly, they’d actually address me by my name. Lastly, my son took a look at my broadband and confirmed there’s absolutely nothing amiss with it.

I received a call from someone inquiring whether I was renting through a private landlord or the council. They went on about some absurdities concerning council maintenance issues. They had my complete name, which raised a red flag. I've since blocked the number!
