I've had loads of calls from numbers that look pretty similar, just like others have said. Eventually, I got so annoyed I picked up. They kept asking if I was still renting from the council. Thing is, I’ve never rented from them, so I reckon they’re just guessing to try and catch me out rather than using real info. Makes you wonder what info they actually have!

They’re from the local housing group, ringing to sort out an issue. Definitely not one of those annoying spam calls.

WARNING! Avoid picking up if this number calls you. The caller never properly identifies themselves; the person sounds Indian and like they’re working from some big call centre. They bombard you with questions about your job, salary, where you live, and stuff like that. Then out of nowhere they say they’ll share your details with other companies for advertising and just cut the call. Felt pretty silly hanging on, thinking people might be rude and just drop the call, but seriously, just don’t engage with them.

We missed a few calls from this number, so just half an hour ago I picked up to find out who it was. A woman said she was ringing from the ‘how’s things’ repair crew, claiming we’d rented a chair from the council. I told her I’d never hired any chair from them and that they must have got the wrong number. Then I ended the call.

It’s honestly driving me mad - I get a call almost daily from numbers that are almost the same. I block one, then the very next day, it’s another that’s only one or two digits off. Whenever I look them up, all I find are scams about social housing and supposed urgent repairs. The thing is, I’ve never lived in social housing in my life! It’s baffling how these scammers can just go on like this without a care.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the council housing repairs team, asking if there was any damage and then trying to get my bank card details to send an inspector. As everyone knows, social housing repairs don’t cost a penny. If you get a ring from this number, ring them back and mess about a bit to waste their time. When I asked one bloke how he felt about ripping people off, he just chuckled and said all English folks are daft and should be paying up. Definitely don’t hand over any info when they already have your name - somebodys definitely leaked your details. Be careful out there, folks.
