In the past day, this number has rung me four different times! It’s weird because both my home phone and mobile ring at the same time. I don’t pick up since my phone flags it as possibly a scam. I’ve already put a block on it now.

It was patently obvious that this was a scam, especially as I actually use Payoneer rather than PayPal!

This has to be a scam. After getting two calls from this number, which I ignored, I checked it out here. Curiosity got the better of me so I rang back just to hear what they’d say. A lady answered and claimed she thought I rented from some council or housing association - which isn’t true at all. They say they’re a firm that helps with claiming compensation if you live in council or housing association properties. They ask if your place has problems like mould or smashed windows, trying to figure out if it’s worth pursuing a case. As tenants, you might get your rent knocked down a bit, but I reckon if there’s any cash payout, they’ll slice off a fair bit for themselves, which I guess explains all the cold calls.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who somehow knew my name and that I rent my place. She claimed she was from the council’s repair team and asked if I had any repairs pending. Thing is, she had no clue which council or housing association I’m with. It felt like she was fishing for more personal info or trying to charge me for a repair. My housing association never needs to check in like that - they always have full records of any repairs anyway. Definitely a scam, same kind of thing with the number 03301900408. Avoid them!

Aouh, got a call from Scottish Power, but it was just them advertising. When I tried ringing back the number they gave to stop getting marketing calls from them, it just told me the voicemail box was full and then cut me off. Pretty annoying obviously, seems like a dodgy way to push their stuff and avoid people opting out.

i got a text saying it was from paypal telling me my account would be locked if i didn’t verify my info within 36 hours. the message included a link to click on to sort it out. instead of using the link, i went straight to the paypal site on my laptop and logged in as usual. there was nothing about my account being locked or needing verification, so it was definitely a scam text.

It was well past 10 pm and I was trying to sleep but they just kept calling and wouldn’t stop. When I asked if their call had anything to do with my plans, they didn’t seem to care at all that I was trying to rest. Absolutely no respect for the time of night!
