Im so glad i found the repair helpline after waiting ages (like 4 years) for my council to sort out the mould on my ceiling and the bath leaking. They rang me up and were really quick and polite. The solicitor got in touch the next day, and the council phoned back within 5 days. They fixed everything right on time and even gave me some compensation for the trouble. Really recommend using them!

But when I asked her last name, she didn’t want to tell me and got a bit annoyed. I pointed out her name didn’t quite fit her strong Indian accent, plus I heard Indian voices in the background. I promptly informed them that I wasn’t comfortable engaging in this conversation, as I doubted the legitimacy of their inquiry. After that, I ended the call and immediately blocked the number. To top it off, the individual had an American accent and there was quite a din in the background.

Absolutely. Had a similar experience myself. It was a rather pushy chap, a white South African by the sounds of it, with all sorts of hubbub in the background, typical of a call centre. He mentioned my name and claimed to represent the council, insisting there were urgent repairs scheduled. When I pressed him for details about his agency, he completely ignored the question and kept harping on about these supposed repairs. I told him I wasn't needing any, and just like that, he hung up on me. It's baffling how these scams operate; perhaps they're trying to gather information for some shady purpose. Definitely came off as rather aggressive, no doubt about it.
