Got a text saying I had supposedly approved some Apple Pay use on my card by a stranger. The message said to call a number to report it, so I did, just to see what was going on. The person on the other end claimed to be from the Financial Conduct Authority, but as someone who’s FCA registered, I knew right away they wouldn’t handle this sort of thing directly. When I started calling them out on their nonsense, they just cut the call off on me.

I reckon this is one of those phishing scams. Just received a text saying something like 'Your card has been added to Apple Pay on Rachael's iPhone, if this wasn't you, ring us back at (number).' Seems dodgy to me!

I reckon this is some sort of phishing scam. Just got a text claiming ‘thanks for adding your card to Apple Pay on Rachael’s iPhone’, and if you didn’t do it, ring this number. Definitely seems dodgy, so I marked it as spam.
