I got a polite phone call from a guy overseas about some shares I supposedly have in a popular high street retailer. He said their lead analyst would give me a ring in a few days with some big news about my investments. When I asked him which company this analyst was from, he quickly ended the call.

I got roped into it by Currys/PC World pushing me to share my number with this call centre, I think it was npower? They talked me into changing my electricity and gas supplier from my pricey one to npower. I did check the standing and unit rates for both before switching, and honestly, it’s been alright so far. Might not be favoured by most people though.
