Got a dodgy call pretending to be from O2 promotions. They head over to the MyO2 site and hit the forgot password option. The bad news is they already have your number. If you end up telling them the code they send (which clearly warns you not to share it with anyone, not even O2 staff) and then your password, you’re done for. They’ll change your password and cause chaos with your account.

This number pretends to be O2, but its just a scam. They want to hack into your my O2 account by tricking you into giving them the password reset code. One red flag is they don’t even bother asking your name, which O2 always does when they call for real. Watch out and don’t fall for it!

I’ve seen others mention this too, and it’s definitely a scam pretending to be O2, likely coming from India. They claim you’re eligible for a 40% cut on your contract, then try to verify your phone number and send you a code that they want you to give them. This is probably how they try to hijack your account. They couldn’t tell me my surname or where I lived, so don’t share any details with them. When I pressed them about who they really were, all they did was repeat my mobile number back to me. I then asked what plan I was on, and they said they’d check but kept pestering me about the code. I told them I’d ring O2 myself and ended the call. Definitely not genuine. Best thing is to block the number and notify O2 straight away.

Like a few folks here have said, this seems to be a scam linked to O2, probably running out of India, where they lure you with a discount on your O2 plan. They’ll ask for the last 4 digits of your number and then try to push a code to your phone, which I think lets them get into your account. Don’t enter that code without checking if they can confirm your name and address first - if you even gave them that info earlier. If you get such a code, just ignore it and delete it straight away. Most times, they’ll just hang up after that anyway. Keep your wits about you and be careful!

Totally a scam. They claimed I could get 40% off my O2 plan plus a free Apple Watch. Then they asked for the answer to my security question and a code sent to my phone so they could get into my account. After that, they went and changed my email, security question and password, then placed an order for an iPhone 13 on my account!
