5 monthsEvery morning about 10ish, this lot keeps buzzing me. I block their number but guess what? The very next day they’re back, ringing from a number that’s just a bit changed. It’s turned into a bit of a daily cat and mouse game with blocking them now.5 monthsSat 1st Oct 26 Got a call from a guy sounding Indian, saying I’d been in a car crash recently. I told him straight up that I hadn’t but he just kept going like he was reading something off a script. Didn’t hang about telling him to clear off - felt like a total scam. Number’s now blocked.5 monthsYeah, definitely a scam from some bloke with a funny accent, really hard to get what he was saying. I just went ahead and blocked the number straight away.5 monthsGot a call out the blue about some accident they claimed I was in over the past couple of years - total rubbish. Typical stuff trying to suss out info from people who might not be on their guard. They only have your number, so don’t give anything away! It’s clearly just a big call centre trawling for personal details. I ended up chatting to a bloke from India who was super polite 😄 I actually enjoy messing with these people, keeping them talking... asking loads of questions about this supposed accident. After a bit, they just hang up and probably scrap your number from their list.India5 monthsI picked up and the person just cut off straight away. I tried ringing back but it kept getting declined. Feels really dodgy to me.5 monthsIf we don’t all speak up when someone tries to scam us, the chances are many of our more at-risk folks will end up losing big parts of their savings. You’ll find info on how to report these scams down below.5 monthsThey were rambling on about some recent ??? thing, but I cut the call short before they could get any more words out. Just gone ahead and blocked the number now.5 monthsSomebody rang me pretending to be from legal help about a car crash I never had. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.5 monthsI picked up the call and a voice said it was ____ from legal help, but I just put the phone down immediately. There was loads of chatter in the background like a busy office or call centre. Watch out for this number, it seems dodgy.5 monthsGot a call on my mobile and it showed up as a potential scam, so I’ve ignored it. They kept ringing a few times but I’ve ended up blocking the number now. Wouldn’t bother picking up if I were you.5 monthsIf people just ignore these scams and don’t report them, nothing will ever get done to stop it. You’ll find information on how to report these calls listed further down.5 monthsGot a call from some guy overseas but I really couldn’t catch what he was saying. Then he just ended the call.5 monthsGot a call from a bloke with an accent, maybe Indian or something like that, claiming he was calling from my phone company. He said he could lower my bill for half a year, but wanted my email address first. I told him surely they must have that info already, but he kept pushing for it. I said no and ended the call. Plus, I don’t even have a monthly plan for him to reduce! Sounds like a proper scam to me.5 monthsIf you want to put an end to these scammers, have a look at the post about 7 posts down from this one. Loads of Brits never bother reporting these scams to the police or Ofcom, and the scammers rely on that to keep going. If more people reported them, they wouldn’t be so brazen.Ofcom5 monthsDon’t pick up, it’s a scam about some fake accident. Just hang up straight away.5 monthsQuickly looked up the number since my phone flagged it as spam automatically. Big thanks to those who've already reported it. Fingers crossed nobody fell victim to any scam from it.5 monthsThey said they could assist with my claim and asked if I’d received any letters from my lawyers. Then they claimed they’d connect me to the 'legal department', but I cut the call short. They did ring me back pretty quickly though.5 monthsGot a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming there was an accident I’d been involved in. I told him that wasn’t the case and I hadn’t had any accidents recently, then he just ended the call. Pretty sure it was just another dodgy scam.5 monthsGot a call around 1:55pm today from someone saying they worked for an insurance firm. They kept insisting I give info about an accident I'd supposedly been in. I never had any accident, so it felt super dodgy. Definitely seemed like a scammer trying to get my personal stuff.5 monthsThey just keep ringing, honestly feels like harassment now.5 monthsGot a couple of calls from the same number and missed them both. Seeing what people say here, I think I’ll just block it.5 monthsThis number is popping up everywhere online as a scam, loads of people saying to make a report with Action Fraud about it.Action Fraud5 monthsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent who asked if I’d been in a car crash, which I definitely hadn’t. Sounded like he was calling from some call centre and for the most part I couldn’t really understand what he was saying, just like all those scam calls. Told him I thought he was trying to get me to do something dodgy, so I just ended the call.5 monthsGot a call from a number I didn't know while my phone was on silent, and they didn't even leave a voicemail.5 monthsGot a call from some scammer pretending to know about a car crash I supposedly had recently in the last couple years. Definitely a dodgy call trying to scare me.5 monthsGot a call asking if I’d been in any crashes over the past two years. I told them I’d been drink driving (which is a lie because I don’t even drive). Then I said I’d lost my leg too, and after that, they just cut me off.5 monthsI told the guy, "have you already got a fixed trace on this call?" and he just ended the call straight away. Definitely some sort of scam pretending to be from a legal department.5 monthsI got a call telling me I was involved in a car accident but they wouldn’t share any specifics. All they said was that some insurance company got my info from someone else. Quite frustrating not knowing what’s going on.5 monthsGot a call from someone pretending to be from some made-up motor accident office, asking if I’d been in a crash. They wouldn’t say where they were from or any legit UK registration. Definitely a scam.UK5 monthsGot a call from someone claiming to be from a claims department. Just like others have said here, he refused to say which company he was representing or give any real info. I told him straight up he’d got the wrong number and to take my details off his list. Then, he just hung up abruptly.Submit Your Own Report (0330 174 6853)
