Got a call from this number early Saturday, about 8 in the morning. Didn't pick up because I didn't know who it was and something seemed fishy. Looked it up on this site and it appears to be dodgy. Pretty sure it's just a scam.

Was already chatting with someone else so didn’t pick up. Checked the number on Who’s Calling to see what it was about. Going to block and report this one for sure.

Got a call about housing damp issues, but as soon as I said I didn't have any, they just dropped the call without bothering to ask for any security info. Looks like from what I've read, this is a common trick they pull. Quite clear they're up to no good.

Got a call but didn’t pick up since my phone said it might be a scam caller from my network.

They said they were following up on my damp and mould complaint but never told me who they were. Also, they didn’t bother to check any details to make sure it was really me. Quite odd, if you ask me!

Received a call from someone pretending to be a housing repair service, saying there were problems with my place. They rushed to ask about damp and mould. When I asked why they needed to ask if they’re the repair team, they suddenly said they dialled the wrong number and hung up straightaway. My iPhone flagged it as a likely scam too, but since I wasn’t busy, I decided to mess with them a bit to hopefully stop them bothering anyone else.

They asked me to explain what issues I'd been having with my home, then said they were from the council or some Housing Association. They came off quite pushy and a bit confrontational. Since it's my own place, the whole thing seemed like a scam right away. Just a complete pain in the neck.

I just got a call a short while back. They said something about housing issues. I ended up hanging up straight away and blocked the number afterwards. I only picked up 'cause I thought it was legit.

Got a call that was definitely a scam about fixing mould and some sort of house upkeep.

They keep ringing a few different mobiles and some random numbers pretending to be from housing repairs, just fishing for a "yes" or "okay" to scam people. Proper dodgy, always on about getting you to agree to stuff.

I got a call on my phone from a bloke claiming I had complained about mould and maintenance issues at my place. Told him I never made any calls like that. He just said alright, then ended the call.

Somebody rang me up trying to help with housing issues that I don’t even have. Quite strange really, as I’ve never mentioned anything about it!

Loads of people have already shared what this scam involves and how to properly report every one of these fraud attempts to the official police and OfCom platforms created by the previous government to track and tackle them. If you never report these scams, don’t be surprised when they carry on happening. Scammers rely on the fact that most people in the UK just ignore it. That’s how they keep getting away with it. Just scroll down roughly ten posts and you’ll spot the initial explanations about this con.

Had a call supposedly about my damp issue, they asked me what problems I was having. We talked for a bit and I mentioned it was an AI on the line, then suddenly the call just cut off.

They kept ringing my phone non-stop, it was so frustrating.

Got a call from this number but didn’t pick up since I wasn’t expecting it. Could be a scam, who knows. I’ll just block it to be safe.

Yesterday someone rang me claiming to be from housing services. I grew suspicious straight away and kept asking which council he was with. He seemed to get annoyed and finally just said ‘central services.’ I wasn’t having any of it so told him to do one, then he just cut the call. I’ve blocked the number since then.

If you come across the third post down from here, you'll see why it's so important to never engage with scammers. Always make sure to report any scam calls you get.

Make sure to read the post 3 entries below this one and FLAG any scam tries! Just a heads up, these scammers might record their calls and can snatch bits of what you say, then use AI to twist your voice in fraud schemes. I saw a TV segment on this tech not long ago and it’s pretty scary. Also, beware of ringing back unfamiliar numbers - you could be connected to a pricey premium line and flagged as an easy mark for future scams. They even have tools to get around call-blocking features nowadays. Stay safe!

Got two calls from this number, first time they left a voicemail mentioning a big withdrawal from my bank. The next call they didn’t leave any message. It’s marked as an international number. I just don’t answer as I’m worried they might record my voice for some sort of AI scam.

Totally dodgy call, some bloke with an accent saying I had to cough up over the phone for emergency repairs at my flat. I’m with the council so I know there’s no charge for that stuff. I messsed about on the phone for like 15 or 20 mins just to wind them up. When they clocked I wasn’t serious, they got sniffy and slammed the phone down haha!

He called about some housing thing, so I said I didn’t have a home, even though I do. He ended the call quicker than you could blink.

I've been getting calls from some dodgy numbers that seem to be based in Manchester, with the callers pretending to be from Manchester Council. They say they’re ringing about housing and tenants, which is weird ’cause they actually have some of their ID - sounds like a scam to me. Stay careful out there!

Beware of scammers! I got a call about some housing problems. When I asked them to clarify what issue I supposedly reported, they started asking if I had damp or mould in "the property." I then asked which property they meant, and suddenly they just ended the call. Definitely a scam, just hang up straight away.
