A guy with a sort of Asian accent called himself ‘Harry’ and claimed I was owed £119, saying some money had been taken from my bank for a washing machine. He said he'd send me a cheque but first he needed to verify my details. Obviously, he asked for my sort code and my account number, which turned me off straight away. We don’t even own a washing machine! When I asked where his office was, he dodged the question saying he wasn’t allowed to share that info. I ended up keeping him on the line for ages just messing about.

They said it was some sort of discount card valid at loads of big supermarkets, but when they asked to verify my age, I just hung up.
