Got a letter saying someone was trying to get a credit card using my name. Rang the number they gave, but the person on the other end was really abrupt and kept cutting me off, wanting more personal info. I ended the call and got in touch with the FCA and Action Fraud, who told me the letter and company were definitely dodgy. The letter had the company address all wrong, with missing letters and weird spaces, plus my name was spelled differently in the heading compared to the salutation. Don’t bother phoning them - just report it to Action Fraud.

I got a letter from New Day about a credit application supposedly done with John Lewis, but it looked fishy since my name was misspelt. Also, they wanted original bank statements - who in their right mind would just send those to some company out of nowhere? I just threw the letter straight in the bin.

I got this letter telling me someone attempted to open an Aqua credit card with NewDay in my name. It’s definitely a scam, so don’t bother ringing them back. Most likely, your details were leaked on some website or during a job search, which is how they managed to get hold of your info.

I got a letter that said it was from CIFAS saying someone tried to get credit using my name, but the name was all wrong so I got suspicious. I checked the number online and loads of people said it was a scam. Don’t ring them back. If you’re worried about fraud, it’s better to get in touch with CIFAS or Citizens Advice yourself.

Fake! Got a letter from Newday saying someone applied for an Aqua credit card pretending to be me. They asked me to ring this number and offered to “help” but only if I sent my bank statements, passport, and two proofs of address. Basically asking for all the info needed to get a credit card or even a job. Seems dodgy to me.

Got a letter with this phone number saying someone applied for a credit card with Fluid Credit using my details. I’m always careful about calling numbers or clicking links from random letters, so I checked it out. Turns out the number on the letter isn’t the same as the one on their official website. Thankfully, I came across this page and it made me realise straight away it’s a scam. Definitely don’t call that number!

An older family member got a dodgy letter claiming to be from Newday, but the number they had doesn’t match the real company’s. Total scam, don’t waste your time with it. The letter’s made from cheap paper, and the spelling and grammar are awful. Honestly, it’s a pathetic try. Hope they get caught for it.

I got a letter from Newday Fraud dept saying I’d applied for a credit card, which I hadn’t. Only after looking up the number did I realise it was some sort of scam.

I recently got a letter from NewDay's Fraud Operations, located at Bruntcliffe Way, Morley, Leeds, LS27 0JG. It stated that someone had submitted a credit application using my name, which is quite alarming. I decided to ring them up and had a conversation with a gentleman there, where I clearly explained that I had no knowledge of this application.

So, I got a letter sent to me from Newday fraud operations, with my own name and address on it. Then I decided to look up the number they gave, and found out it’s actually a scam from what I read here.

I came across a letter recently from NewDay's Fraud Operations, located at Bruntcliffe Way in Morley, Leeds, with the postcode LS27 0JG. The letter mentioned that they’d processed a credit application supposedly submitted by me. The second page referred to something called the CIFAS organisation. All of this strikes me as rather dodgy. I’ve chosen to disregard the correspondence for now.

Today I got a letter from newday fraud dept sent to my house but it wasn’t addressed to me, just my address. At first I was quite stressed but then decided to look up the phone number on the letter, glad I did. Turns out it’s a scam, seems like they’re sending these out to random locations. Best thing is dont bother ringing them, just bin it.

Got a letter from NewDay saying my John Lewis credit application was suspicious and told me to ring that number. Very odd!

I must admit, reading through all the remarks here gave me a bit of a fright, leading me to conduct an in-depth probe. I rang up NewDay (also known as Aqua) using the customer service number listed on their official site. They verified all the details found in the letter I received and clarified that the phone number in question is indeed one that directs you straight to their specialised Fraud Customer Service team. It's easy to get a bit muddled, as this particular organisation operates under several names, including Aqua, NewDay, Marbles, and Pulse, with NewDay being the overarching entity.

Got a letter telling me someone applied for credit with John Lewis using my name, and it had a phone number to ring back. At first, I thought it was legit, but I’m really relieved I looked into it properly.

I got a letter just like the first commenter mentioned. When I tried scanning the QR code with my phone, it didn’t register at all. Plus, the contact number on the letter was different from the two numbers listed on NewDay’s site. Because of this, I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of scam, so I’ve decided to just block it out.

I've just received an identical letter as someone else mentioned earlier regarding this phone number. Curiously, the QR code on the letter won't scan with my app, and the contact number provided doesn't correspond with either of the two numbers listed on the NewDay site. Consequently, I've come to the realisation that it's likely a scam, so I've chosen to disregard it altogether.

Things aren't looking too rosy right now; I’ve found myself entangled in what appears to be a scam. I've had to take the precautionary step of freezing my bank accounts.

I recently got a rather concerning letter from NewDay Fraud Operations, based at Bruntcliffe Way, Morley, Leeds, LS27 0JG. The letter mentioned that a credit application had been submitted using my name, which was quite alarming. Naturally, I took the initiative to give them a ring and spoke to a chap there, explaining that I hadn’t authorised any such application. It appears this application was filed on 12th October of this year. Has anyone else out there encountered a similar situation or received a letter like this?
