I got a text saying "Your One Time Passcode is 03604" for spending £345 at John Lewis, but I never made that purchase. They also want you to ring 03301654372 if it wasn’t you. Don’t trust it, it’s a scam and they try to charge you £4 every month too.

Barclays definitely wouldn’t be texting from a random mobile number, and that 03301654377 they showed up isn’t their fraud department number at all. Probably a trick to get you to call back and hand over your banking info, then they just steal your cash. Beware!

I decided to check that number out and discovered loads of similar scam reports, which I already guessed because Barclays wouldn't text from a mobile number, the code should change every time, and on top of that, I don’t even bank with Barclays!

I got the exact same message as others on here, but in my experience banks don't ever text you from a random mobile number or send the same "one time" code twice. Not totally sure how the scam works, but it’s definitely dodgy. Just be careful folks!
