got a letter claiming barclays owed me a refund of 400 quid. it said i needed to fill out a reply form within 30 days and send in my account number, sort code, and a 3-month bank statement. it was signed by maxine harris, md at barclays. honestly, this has scam written all over it.

Just got this letter supposedly from Barclays saying they owe us cash from some foreign payments over the last decade. At first, I was nearly convinced it was legit, but after checking out what people said online, I’m defiantly going to pop into my branch and double-check before sending anything back.

This phone number is connected to Barclays, and you can double-check this information on their official site. However, stay vigilant, as there are fraudsters out there who can manipulate caller ID to make it seem like they’re calling from Barclays. It's important to note that a legitimate representative from Barclays will never reach out to you over the phone requesting sensitive information such as credit card details or account numbers. Be cautious!

that maxine harris character claims to be from barclays bank, but she's nowhere near a managing director! i checked her linkedin and she has only two contacts, hardly convincing. i reckon you should pop into your nearest barclays branch to double-check. also, why don’t they just send you a refund cheque? the envelope is addressed to barclays, but it doesn’t match the official barclays details and no proper barclays reference number either, just some odd jumble. tried to pass it off but it’s not good enough for me.

You won’t believe it, but I got a letter saying Barclays owes me money because of some wrongly calculated international transaction charges. The phone number mentioned in the letter is the same one listed here.
