I told them that person was on annual leave and asked what email address they had for them. They then said they couldn’t share the email address. There’s no way I’m gonna give out an email for someone at my company to a stranger. This made me suspicious that it wasn’t actually Barclays.

Claiming to be from Barclaycard Compliance Team. They used to leave these vague voicemails which were impossible to understand, asking for a callback with a merchant ID. My colleague always tells them to ring back after 3pm to talk to the office manager, but they never bother. Now they just call, let one ring, then hang up straight away. Happens every day, right on 3pm, 3:30pm or 4pm exactly. Because it’s so hard to make out what they’re saying, makes you question if they’re even legit.
