When I picked up the call, there was absolutely nobody on the line.

A woman reached out to me asking if I held an account with BT. She went on about how Open Reach had split from BT not long ago and assured me she could help me cut my costs. Total scam, if you ask me!

Inspire Telecom reckons BT's just a wholesale outfit now and are only about hiking up my bills. What a load of nonsense. Sounds like they’re trying to cash in on that BT/Openreach split which happened ages ago and honestly didn’t affect us at all. I told them I wasn’t bothered, hung up, and blocked their number straight away.

Got a call from Inspire Telecom's call centre, and the lady was pushing me to sign up fast without actually showing if it'd save me any money - she wouldn’t even go over the fees again so I could jot them down. Not sure if it’s a scam, but feels dodgy, like maybe they’re struggling financially? Don’t be hurried, double check if it’s really going to be cheaper for you.

Got a call from a bloke who called himself Brad Wiggins (or something like that) rattling on about BT and Openreach splitting up. He was offering some amazing deals but almost straight away tried to get my bank info. Told him I'd mull it over and ring him back. Had a look the company up on Companies House and it does show up with a couple of directors. Might be legit, but I’m not really convinced.

This is just another typical phone scam. They target older folks and those who might not be clued up, spinning a load of nonsense about BT splitting from Openreach and how they can get you Openreach services cheaper. Once issues come up and you want out, they threaten with huge fees, like £700 or more. Absolutely never hand over your card details to them.

03301373666 called me, a woman said she’d been checking my bill and said I could get a discount. I asked for the previous owner as I thought their records were out of date, she told me to check online and then started shouting at me. So I just ended the call! This number isn’t from BT, probably Norwich area. These people act like we’re idiots who’ll fall for their scams. Why hasn’t the government done anything about them yet? They’re absolutely awful!

Got my first lower bill this month, just £24.99 instead of the £60+ I used to pay with BT! I'm usually pretty careful with cold calls, but this one totally paid off. I've even helped get 4 of my family switched to Inspire now.

Got a call from Inspire last night and it felt a bit dodgy at first, especially when they mentioned Openreach own the lines now and I was apparently paying too much with BT. They said they'd ring back after I looked into it. Turns out it all checks out, so happy to say I'll be getting a bill for £44.98 instead of £86 with BT come the end of January!

Inspire Telecom called me with the same usual spiel about BT and Openreach being 2 separate businesses now, and how BT charges a big markup on phone lines compared to what Openreach actually charges. They claimed Inspire could cut down that markup quite a bit. When I asked if they knew about the TPS and whether they’d checked if I was on the TPS register, they got really defensive. So I just ended the call!

Had a call this morning from a nice lass called Chelsea at Inspire Telecom about lowering my bill. I was a bit wary at first, so I looked up their website and everything seemed legit. She never asked for any payment details apart from direct debit info. Reading some of the comments here has me puzzled, cause they didnt request any personal data. I’d defo recommend having a proper look at their site before making any conclusions.

Some woman rang me up asking for my bank info to lower BT call costs, but it seems dodgy, so I’d avoid it.

They rang me up offering lower bills, but didnt ask for my bank info right away. Later got some paperwork through the post which looked legit. Shared my details and sorted a Direct Debit. The first bill was bigger than I thought it would be but now it’s cheaper than my old BT bills so I’m pleased. Usually I’m wary of cold callers but this one turned out alright for me.

Got a call from someone named Nathan who said our line rental would drop to £10 a month and calls would be cheaper too - claimed it’s the same as Open Reach service. Said the new charges start December 2019. He mentioned the company might be based in Rochester?? He even got our address from my wife without her realising and said they’d send out a new direct debit with a two week cooling off time. I’m pretty sure this is dodgy and a scam!!

Got a call from a lady asking if I was the BT account owner. She was telling me Open Reach now runs the phone line separately from BT and that I could save cash since I'm apparently paying them too much. Pretty clear it was a scam, so I just ended the call.

Yesterday, I got a call from a friendly young woman named Chelsea who was with Inspire Telecom. I was a bit doubtful at the start, but after she went through how easy it was to switch my billing over, I actually felt pretty happy about the chat. I have to say, my line rental and broadband costs both looked much better than what I’m currently paying!

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT or Inspire. They told me my phone rate was wrong and I was being overcharged, said I should be paying less. I called BT myself afterwards and they said it was nothing to do with them. Plus, BT don’t usually ring up customers about billing stuff like that.

Just like everyone else, a woman rang saying she was from BT and asked if I was the one who held the account. She claimed she could reduce our bills. I told her to send me the info in writing and then ended the call. Reading the other comments, I’m happy I chose to do that!

Looks like a scam, they push broadband plans hard. The contract terms seem sketchy and their customer service is really pushy and unhelpful when you try to cancel.

I had a very similar thing happen. I called what I thought was BT customer service, and they told me they always notify customers by letter about any updates to their account, never by phone, and they definitely wouldn’t ask for bank details over the phone. This really seems like some sort of scam. Also, heads up - the 0330 number they use is likely a premium rate one, so if you try calling it to sort things out or complain, you might end up paying a fortune. The more you call, the more it costs you! Honestly, it’s best to just ignore them and not waste your time.

A young woman rang up saying that BT and Openreach are now two different businesses and that Openreach could help me cut down on my bill because I was paying too much. She asked if I had a pen handy, and I said yes but was just busy vacuuming so I'd have to grab one! Then I asked why I hadn’t received any email about this, she said she was gonna find my discount info - the line then went dead so I just ended the call.

Today at 12.08pm, I got a call from someone saying he was Liam Taylor, a name ive seen mentioned here. He told me a number to get in touch with Inspire, 03301373666, supposedly about BT services. I checked that number afterwards and it does seem to be linked to BT. However, once he started asking for my personal info, I just cut the call. He already had my address anyway.

Liam was a really polite bloke, seemed genuine enough, but as soon as he started asking for my sort code and account details, I said I’d have my son ring back instead. He was quite pushy though. It was something about Openreach splitting from BT and saving me about £20 a month. They also mentioned Inspire. No chance I’m falling for that.

Had a jingle on my phone earlier from this number. A bloke claimed to be representing Openreach, which apparently has separated from BT, and he was touting reduced rates for phone calls and line rental. He was quite keen on obtaining my bank details for setting up a standing order. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Picked up the phone, there was a bit of quiet and then it just hung up. Definitely not someone worth chatting to.
