Got a call claiming to be from Nationwide, saying my card was used on Groupon with a dodgy IP address far from where I live. They knew a few bits about me but as soon as I told them I'd already frozen my card and asked for a replacement, they just cut me off! Seriously, don’t pick up if you get a call like this!

Got another dodgy text, pretty much like the others claiming a payment of £1095.20 to AIRBNB via Nationwide. Didn’t take the bait at all. It showed up from a mobile number but I’ve reported it as fraud and then wiped it off my phone.

I got a weird text about an AIRBNB booking I never made, and it had this number in the message: 07588 531835. It’s not one I know, looks like a personal mobile rather than a business number. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got a message saying 7k3tiljhe4a8z8xu-235 NATIONWIDE: Your code is 904125 for a charge of £1095.20 from AIRBNB. I didn’t make any purchase like that so I rang the number 0330 133 1743 with the ref N7290 just to check, but it definitely felt dodgy. I sent the text to the SCAM report number straight away. You can copy the message and send it to 7726 (SPAM) too - it helps the phone companies block these scam messages better. Found some tips on how to spot and report spam when I looked it up on the consumer site. Stay safe!
