He gave me a dodgy Crime Reference number and collar ID, but when I checked with the Met police, it turned out to be rubbish. Then my missus called the same number back, and this time the caller said they were from Merseyside police. They reckoned her info was written down in their notebook, but as you'd guess, the details they gave us were fake too.
