Got a call on my work mobile earlier from someone saying they were with the council, asking if my house had any damp or mould issues. Sounded like a call centre in the background and the bloke’s voice was badly distorted, couldn’t really understand him and he seemed clueless about what he was talking about!

Feels fishy - sounds like something the police ought to look into.

Had a call from some lot saying they wanted to check my solar panel inverter and meter, claiming it’s all covered by the original installer. Thing is, I actually did the installation myself so I know exactly this is just cold calling nonsense. If other folks let them in for a “check-up”, they’ll probably come up with some dodgy fault that needs expensive repairs. Total scam, don’t fall for it - it’s all a load of rubbish.

Loads of firms popping up these days trying to swindle you out of your smart solar energy setup. Watch out! Don’t let yourself get tricked. Keep a close eye on your investment. There’s no need to shell out for extra "maintenance" stuff unless something actually breaks down. They’ll keep working fine without any extra cash being thrown at them. Maybe just a bit of cleaning now and then, depending on how your panels are positioned.

Honestly, the main thing to think about is, if your inverter isn’t under warranty anymore but it's still functioning fine, why bother replacing it? Just wait until it actually breaks down. This phone call from the company linked to this number was quite something. Initially, I wasn’t sure if I could trust what they told me, but once they broke things down properly, a lot of it fit with what I’ve been dealing with, especially since my old provider isn’t around anymore. I wondered how they even got my details, but the bloke on the phone kindly explained everything. The assessor was really helpful and the engineer cleared up a few things I was confused about. To my surprise, there was no fee with Clear Renewable. I’d definitely tell my mates and family to give them a go.

got a call about a "free pv inverter check"... sounded fishy right away. asked them to send me something in writing, but they wouldn’t give me their address because apparently a legit inspector would already know mine. these calls come around 2 or 3 times every week and not once have they bothered to follow up with a letter. definitely not genuine.

I'm planning to report them. Just a heads up to watch out for calls from numbers beginning 0330 - they aren’t tied to any particular location, meaning the call could be coming from anywhere in the UK (either someone's flat or a business).

I got a call from this firm Clear Renewable offering a free check-up of the inverter on my solar panels. Apparently, the place I originally got them from has shut down. Their website, something like #Jclearrenewable[###], seems alright though. They gave me a contact name and number if I need to ring them back, but since they’re quite a new business, I’m a bit unsure about trusting them completely.
