Today I got a call from someone saying they were scheduling appointments for British Gas to offer better energy deals. When I told them I’d been with BG for ages (about 7 years) and asked if they actually checked before calling, the guy got really rude and just ended the call. Feels like a scam to me, super rehearsed and they kept saying “look” way too much. Definitely not a call I’d trust 😅

Avoid this so-called waste broker at all costs! They claim to offer bin collection for businesses but are really just touting overpriced services and are incredibly impolite. They never stick to the collection times they promise. I’ve heard they’re being looked into by Trading Standards and some government bodies as well. To follow up on my earlier comment, they did ring me back. They actually claimed I’d asked for a call to talk about business stuff! I told them I had only ever asked for our info to be taken off their list. Now I’ve had to demand the call recordings and proof the data has been deleted, as we’re entitled to under GDPR. Plus, the guy who phoned back, Matthew, was shockingly rude - totally unnecessary. Cheaper Waste has already taken way too much of my time. If they call you, I’d recommend insisting they remove your details and remind them of your GDPR rights.
