I got a call from a lady claiming she was with 3 Mobile, but honestly, she was pretty hard to make out.

My nan, who’s 88, got tricked into buying a discount card for £299.95 for the whole year. Luckily, my mum spotted the letter and tried to sort it out since nan was still inside the so-called “cooling off period”. But when she called the numbers they gave, no one picked up or answered. It’s just awful how they take advantage of older people like that, puts them right at risk of getting ripped off. Properly dodgy and unfair.

Turns out this number belongs to Ideal World’s shopping channel on telly. They handle the membership stuff for the Ideal World discount card.

Today, on the 13th of October 2020, our Virgin Media bill landed on my doormat, and I couldn’t help but notice that the only two phone numbers listed were these: 0330-124-1223. It turns out they rang twice, and it seems like each call has racked up a cost of approximately £1.83. To be honest, I suspect this could be some sort of dodgy scam or a clever telemarketing ploy designed to catch folks out and profit from calling us first. Honestly, it feels a bit underhanded!

I've noticed a £14.95 charge every month on my bank statement from this number. Don't have a clue what it's for and I'm a bit wary about ringing them up. Can anyone shed some light on this?
