A chap rang from this number, wanting to have a word with my manager. I mentioned she was out of reach and offered to jot down a message. Rather oddly, he hung up without a word. It’s just bizarre that someone would ring up and then bail the moment they couldn’t speak to their intended target. I didn't catch the fellow's name, but he had a low mumble which was hard to make out. I'd be very cautious about sharing any details with anyone from this number until I know exactly who they are and what their intentions are.

The first time they rang, it was actually directed to a colleague's mobile within the same firm. He provided them with our main office number and passed it on to me. They rang back and our receptionist seamlessly forwarded the call to my desk. I was then quizzed on whether I was the decision-maker for mobile phones in our organisation before being asked if they could forward marketing information to my email. Curiously, she already possessed my email and the company’s postal code. I pressed her for her identity, and in a rather strong Indian accent, she introduced herself as Wendy Smith. To be honest, it didn’t quite ring true as a 'Wendy Smith'. The rest of our conversation flew by so quickly that I struggled to comprehend her. She thanked me for something and abruptly the line went dead. The only notable point she mentioned was that she had checked my LinkedIn profile. It all feels a bit dodgy, to say the least...
