Afterwards, I got two texts with one-time PIN codes, and the messages said to ring 03301234150 if I hadn’t requested the codes. Definitely a scam - don’t fall for it!

BT just got in touch right away, probably cos I’m a loyal customer (me), but apparently their system flagged me as ‘thinking of leaving’. They’ve been taking the mickey out of my loyalty for ages, giving better deals to newbies for the same cash. First thing they say is, “What can we do to stop you going?” and then hit me with, “You owe £257 if you want to cancel!” Erm, no thanks! I’ve already arranged my deal to finish at the end of my contract. So yeah, BT, just cos you’re quick to reply doesn’t mean you’re on my side 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄.

Got calls from two lads, Ron Spencer and Los Parker, who said they were from BT Broadband. They claimed folks from the States were messing with my account. After about half an hour of all that stress, I just hung up. It’s a total con, no doubt. They even rattled off two different London addresses (plus different phone numbers) for BT. Don’t fall for it, mate.

Got a text from someone claiming another person’s trying to claim the phone line at my mum’s place, but they didn’t even bother to say her name - classic scam stuff. I got a few texts from this number and called BT to ask about it. They told me it’s actually one of their sales teams. Not sure if they randomly txted you like that, but in my case the messages were genuine.

Looking at my BT bill, this number shows up under "Special Service" calls, but I honestly can't recall dialling it. I've had to ring BT a few times about issues with my gear, but I’m pretty sure I always used their freephone line. Seeing some of the comments here is a bit worrying! Can anyone shed some light on this?
