7 yearsAbsolutely dodgy, if you ask me... They claim you've previously had a chat and supposedly consented to back some 'educational' books meant for a school. It’s a clever little ruse, preying on people’s goodwill, banking on you to give in since it’s meant for a noble cause! Sadly, I fell for this trick about four years back, and the moment I said I couldn’t recall their call, they swiftly ended the conversation. - caller: literary fundraisers7 yearsWhat a right con they are! Those dodgy blokes had another go at me today. Apparently, I’ve supposedly agreed to support some safety booklets for schools ages ago. Just a pack of lowdown, money-grabbing swindlers! It’s beyond me why the phone providers aren’t putting an end to these calls posthaste. If they happen to ring you up, have a natter and draw it out for as long as you can - waste their precious time! Check out this link for more info: https://www.bt.com/consumer/edw/scams/ - the number to watch out for is 03301229601.7 yearsWhat a con! I had a call from them claiming that I had supposedly agreed to cough up £199 back in April for their charity aiming to tackle bullying in schools. Naturally, I was puzzled as I had no recollection of such a thing. They assured me they'd get their team to listen to the previous call to see if I was indeed the one who authorised it-how cheeky! They tried to present it as though I’d already made some sort of donation (I initially thought it might be a voucher donation) and were merely ringing to express their gratitude. Then the woman casually asked who should receive the invoice. I was taken aback and asked her what on earth this was for. Complete rip-off! They even threw in names of local schools to give their story an air of credibility. Seriously, don’t be taken in by this!Submit Your Own Report (0330 122 9601)
