Got a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC’s payment security team. They told me there was a transaction on my card and even mentioned the last four digits, saying I needed to confirm straight away that it was me who made the purchase. Sounds like a classic banking scam to me.

This bloke said he was calling from the credit card firm, and being daft I ended up giving him the code not once, but twice while I wasn’t paying full attention. As soon as I cottoned on, he had the cheek to say thanks for the new trainers. Honestly, just block the number!

Definitely a scam, they were asking for a PIN that gets sent to your phone to approve some payment. Claimed to be from the fraud department and said they had to stop the transaction, said giving the PIN would sort it. When I told them I'd check my account activity and ring the real fraud team, they got annoyed. Seriously, don't hand out any codes to anyone like this.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Natwest, saying there was some dodgy activity going on with my account. They didn't even ask if it was a personal or a business one, which seemed off straight away. Had a proper British accent too, but don't let that trick you.
