Avoid this number! I got tricked by a bogus Garmin site and reached out to this number in 2023, only to realise later it was a scam. It’s connected to 02039 501274. Be careful!

Was trying to update my Garmin sat nav and got a bit suspicious, so I ended the call quickly. Feels like it could’ve been a scam to me.

I was updating my Tom Tom navigation via a chat service when they connected me to some 'technician' who remotely accessed my PC. He claimed my computer needed a Network Firewall and offered to install it and 'clean' my laptop. Felt dodgy straight away so I said I'd call back later. Glad I trusted my gut - looks like it was a con. Now I'm having a proper tech take a look at my laptop.

Seems I've encountered a dodgy character using the name Tim, who claims to be some sort of updater. Definitely feels like a scam to me!

I got a call after I tried to get help via Tom Tom’s chat because my computers were acting up. I let the caller take control remotely, and then he mentioned he’d ring back once everything was fixed. Later, I was charged £120! After that, I got another call from an Indian number asking for more info. I ended up shutting my computer down, but they’d changed my login details. Now, it seems like I’ll have to completely reformat it. I’ve put a stop on the payment, fingers crossed it won’t go through.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from GPS Expert UK Ltd. They said they were connected with Garmin, but when I checked, Garmin told me they’re not linked with that firm at all and never ask for that kind of payment. The person in charge uses two separate phone numbers, and both seem to be flagged for scam activities. Definitely be cautious if you get a call from them.

Beware of the Norton scheme, they'll try to get you to pay for antivirus stuff you might not need.

I called Garmin’s sat nav support and ended up giving them my computer to fix it. They charged me for a licence that I didn’t actually need. Total waste of money!

Beware, this number is definitely a scam. They act like they're from Tomtom and it feels pretty real at first with fake invoices and websites. I, along with others, got tricked by them and ended up losing out. Don’t trust anything they say!

This was definitely a rip off! I ended up paying £360 for some antivirus software after being told my Norton deluxe wasn’t compatible with Windows 10. I’m gutted because I’ve clearly been conned. My credit card company thinks it’s a scam too. I really wish I could speak to Alex, who I’m convinced is behind all this. I was under the impression I was on the official Tomtom home page but it turns out I wasn’t. Avoid this scam at all costs!

I got this number off someone who claimed it was MapServeuk[###], where I bought a firewall from. When I phoned up to complain about it, they said they'd refund me, but that never came through. Now the number doesn’t seem to work at all. Feels like a total scam to me, so I’m planning to report it to Fraud Alert.

I got a ring from someone named Jonnie after attempting to sort out my TomTom online. After I tried troubleshooting on what looked like the official TomTom login page, he rang me up. He started blaming everything on my McAfee and then pushed some kind of fix for sale. That’s when I got sketchy and ended the call straight away. To be safe, I went ahead and changed every password I use. Really unsettling, especially since I found the TomTom login site through Google.

Totally a scam. I got linked to them after hooking my Garmin up to my laptop. A pop-up from some web helper came up saying I needed tech support and asked for my phone number so someone could ring me. Then I got a call from a guy who said his name was Jonny. He asked for permission to control my computer remotely.

I was trying to update my TomTom by connecting it and going on their website to register my SatNav. When I entered my phone number, I soon got a call back. A bloke named Jason told me the maps wouldn’t update because of hackers messing about. Then he tried to sell me a discounted security plan since I’m retired - 5 years for £180. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from an Asian guy named Michael Clarke claiming he was with TomTom. He tried to convince me to uninstall my McAfee antivirus and install Cisco on my computer, asking for more than £300. Seriously, don't deal with this bloke.
