Undoubtedly, this is a scammer at work. After informing her that I had already cancelled the service, she seemed clueless and kept pressing for all my personal information. She kept insisting on verifying my address and various other details. Quite audacious, really!

I received a call on my mobile, where the person on the other end, who had a rather strong foreign accent, claimed to be from OVO discussing the installation of a smart meter. She requested my name and account number. I politely informed her that I already possessed the necessary details and saw no reason to share my account number with someone who called me-if she was truly from OVO, I assumed she would already have that information. After that, I promptly hung up.
