I got a call from Vanquis Fraud team, and they sorted out everything after checking me through some security stuff. The only things they asked for were my date of birth and the last four digits of my card. They ended up proving they were legit by mentioning some purchases I recognised. The number they called from was the same one on the back of my card too.

I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise and thought it might be dodgy, but turns out it was Vanquis Bank. I have a direct debit on my card, which got stopped because the bank gave me a replacement card. Just to be safe, I googled the number first and made sure it matched the official contact info from Vanquis website, which I even copied above. So, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a scam. Always better to double check!

This is a total scammer pretending to be Vanquis. I asked the bloke his name, he said Benjamin Arthur, and when I asked for a contact number, he just gave the one he was ringing from. He claimed there were suspicious activities on my account in the last 45 minutes. When I mentioned that my card had been cancelled ages ago, like 3 months back, he just said “oh your card's cancelled” and then hung up straight away. Complete scam, don’t fall for it!

I keep getting messages from this number saying my card ending in...(last 4 digits) has had its mobile number changed and to call right away if I didn’t authorise it. They claim to be Vanquis but to be safe I contacted them using a different phone number. They didn’t recognise my mobile and said I’ve never been a customer. They reckon it’s likely a scam and will investigate. It’s worrying though as I’ve had multiple texts like this. The genuine Vanquis number seems to be 03300993000, which I found confirmed here.

Just called Vanquis Bank on their customer service number 0330 099 3000 to sort out a few things. You can ring them to apply for a new Vanquis credit card, sort out repayments, report any dodgy transactions, or get a new card if yours has been lost or nicked.
