It appears that I inadvertently signed up for the text alerts, and now I’m stuck as it won’t let me opt out by sending the Stop(number). Quite frustrating, really!

Make sure you get a free confirmation text saying ‘You have been removed from Alerts for You Help? 0330 057 0895’ before you assume the service has been cancelled. If no message arrives, get in touch with them to double-check your subscription is off. If you’re signed up to multiple paid services, you’ll need to send a stop message for each one or just text STOP ALL to end everything at once.

Hey there, I keep getting messages from Alertsayco.uk saying it costs £1.50 a week or £4.50 a month. They tell me to text 888222 to cancel but when I tried, it said I’d be charged, so I didn’t go through with it. Please could someone look into this and handle it properly? Thanks!

You’ve got the chance to get your money back for the first two weeks if you cancel the service within 14 days of signing up. If that’s something you want to sort, just give Customer Services a ring at 0330 057 0895 before the 14 days are up.

I reckon the 'alerts for you' thing is a total rip-off. If you happen to give your phone number to them through some dodgy internet ads or offers, you’ve basically signed up for a service you didn’t even ask for! They just get you to click a random ad somewhere online, grab your mobile number, and suddenly you’re stuck with these annoying alerts you never wanted in the first place. Real sketchy if you ask me.

Hello, I keep getting messages from Alertsayco.uk saying it costs £1.50 a week or £4.50 monthly. They tell me to text 888222 to opt out, but I was worried it might charge me, so I didn't try. Could someone please look into this and deal with whoever’s responsible? Thanks a lot!

Got some dodgy texts claiming to be from Lidl, trying to nick money straight off my phone bill. Definitely a scam!

Watch out for ALERTSFORYOU, it’s definitely a con, so don’t get tricked!

This has to be a scam. If you notice any charges popping up, tell the police straight away like you’re being scammed. Also, ring your phone company and insist they stop the charges. Threaten to switch providers if they don’t listen - and seriously, follow through if needed! If money’s come out of your bank account, contact your bank immediately and ask them to block any future payments.

Heads up everyone, this is a SCAM. I never subscribed to anything like this, but the texts keep coming and I can't seem to switch them off. Even my phone company says there's nothing they can do about it. Ended up putting a limit on my data to stop them charging me. Really frustrating!

I can't believe my phone company is aware of all this but still lets it go on. I'm fed up beyond words.

I got this text from “88222” saying I’d be charged £1.50 for every message unless I stopped it. But surprise, to send ‘STOP’ it cost me 10p! Looked it up and turns out it’s linked to this number. Feels like a proper scam to me.

I just got a rather puzzling text informing me that I'm signed up for AlertsForYou.co.uk, costing £1.50 for each alert, with a cap of £4.50 per week. To opt out, I need to message STOP to 88222. Can anyone lend a hand? Here’s the number: 033000570895. Cheers!

Just a heads up, I never signed up for anything but kept getting random texts that I ignored. Today, one message popped up saying I'd been unsubscribed and told me to call 03300570895. Glad I didn't bother replying and just blocked the number straight away. I always steer clear of answering to numbers I don't recognise.

Just a heads up, I never signed up for this but got a couple of messages that I didn’t bother with. Today I got another text saying I’d been unsubscribed and I needed to call 03300570895. Luckily, I decided to ignore it and blocked the number straight away. I usually never respond to numbers I don’t recognise.

Got a message claiming to be from 'Alerts for You' asking me to text STOP to some other number. I’m pretty sure I never signed up for anything like this. There’s no easy unsubscribe option except ringing up one of two phone numbers they provide. Bit annoying really.
