So I got a call from someone claiming to be with the Three mobile network. They said there’s a new rewards programme for both old and new customers, which means you can get any phone on an 18-month contract at half the price. According to them, there’s been a deal running for about a year and a half where you get the first 6 months of your contract at half price, then pay the full amount for the remaining 12 months. But this ‘new’ offer supposedly slashes the cost to half for the entire 18 months, which sounds amazing - if it weren’t a total scam, that is!

I did a bit of digging into this offer that seemed way too good to be true and realised how silly three mobile are being. Turns out these scammers are messing about with the numbers that Ofcom has given to three mobile, making their calls look legit. So they’re pulling a fast one right under Three’s nose and fooling loads of folks as well. Definitely keep your guard up with this one!

i picked up and they just ended the call straight away. bit odd tbh. totally with what others said here.

They ring me and drop the call right away, I’m pretty sure it’s them testing if the number’s active before passing it on to someone else. I have them blocked, but then some other number that's almost the same pops up and calls again!

Really simple disguise, nothing complicated at all.

This looks like some sort of test to see if a phone number is still active, probably from call centres globally. If you pick up, your number might get sold off. Best to just ignore and block it!

Keep getting calls from this number, always different versions of it, and they’re asking for someone called Amy Langdon every single time.

Got a recorded message, pretty sure it was just some cold caller. Decided to block it straight away.

This blocked number just won’t stop ringing, day in and day out! It’s driving me mad.

They tried ringing me so I looked them up online. Didn’t answer and have just blocked the number now!
