I received a rather peculiar call from a chap named Jason, who claimed to represent a manufacturing firm. He mentioned something about a new energy initiative slated for launch this year and inquired whether I owned an old address of mine. I informed him that I no longer resided there and suggested he reach out to the occupants currently living there. Quite promptly, he ended the conversation. While he was courteous enough, it definitely felt like a dodgy scam to me!

I told them straight it was dodgy and they started arguing with me - I just ended the call. A week after, they tried the same on my 89-year-old mum, but thankfully she’s sharp and told them off before hanging up. The guy was pretty rude and pushy with her too.

Some guy rang me and I told him I’m not interested in any cold calls, then just put the phone down. Then he called again, moaning that I was rude for cutting him off. I did the same thing again. Got a call from Posh Windows UK in Stoke, and when I asked how they got my info, they just hung up on me. I rang them back on 08001777762, and they reckoned I must've handed my details over to some door-to-door salesperson in the last year - which is totally not true! They also insisted their mailing lists come only from proper companies, but I’m signed up with the Mailing and Telephone Preference Service, so that can’t be right. Thinking of reporting them to Ofcom given how many bad reviews there are about them. Definitely spammy behaviour.

On the 10th of December 2021, my UK home phone rang, and the number 03300564118 appeared on the line. The person on the other end claimed to be from some organisation called POSH. They insisted they weren’t peddling anything but insisted they had representatives in my vicinity conducting a governmental survey of sorts. I was asked whether I owned the property, as part of an eligibility check for, get this, new windows, among other things. I made it quite clear that I wasn’t keen, yet they persisted, making it rather uncomfortable, so I decided to end the call, albeit courteously. It seems this old trick is making a reappearance, even though I’m registered with the TPS. Honestly, this sort of nuisance should see those involved facing hefty fines or getting shut down altogether. Just fed up with it! - JL.

What an utterly unpleasant experience! I encountered this rather impolite woman who seemed to have no awareness of her own origins.
