I got a message out of the blue saying I owed cash for a fine I'd supposedly not paid. Thing is, I've never got a fine before so it felt a bit dodgy. The message claimed to be from Jacobs acting for HMCTS. Later on, they rang and left a voicemail asking me to urgently get in touch with someone called Lewis about this fine. They even used my full name, which was odd. But since I haven’t had anything sent through the post, it all seemed like a bit of a scam to me.

Got a call from some bloke asking me what my name was, so I just told him to jog on. Turns out it was Jacobs debt collector ringing me up. Proper laugh that was! 🤣

Every year, for the past few years, I get calls from Jacobs Enforcement, but they always ask for someone who clearly isn't me and have the wrong number too. Strangely, after listening to their voicemail, it just vanished, so I couldn't even ring them back. Feels like a total scam to me!

Got a text from Jacobs on 0330 0563323 saying I owe £473 to HMCTS with Ref no 91103424 and that they’ll be chasing me for it. Looks like a total scam to me.

Got a call from some lad with a Scouse accent claiming he was from a construction firm, saying something about enforcement issues. Kept saying "this is an important call," but sounded dodgy to me. Definitely felt like a scam.

It’s a fraud, pure and simple! The police suggest sending a text to 7726 to report these scams, according to the Action Fraud site. Definitely have a look at that police webpage - it’s pretty handy for spotting phishing attempts.

Got a voicemail from some place called 'Jacobs Enforcement' saying it was really urgent to ring them back. No clue who they are or where they got my number from!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with Jacobs Enforcement about some speeding ticket I hadn't paid. He mentioned that he had my last address wrong but strangely had my current phone and email. He told me to sort things out with the DVLA. What was weird is he was right about the old address being from 8 months back. The speeding fine supposedly dated back to October, and apparently, I was going to be summoned to Cardiff Magistrates Court. Thing is, he never gave me any sort of reference number or told me how much the fine was. Feels like a scam or what?

I got a call from this number asking if I was a certain person, which seemed a bit off to me. The caller said I’d been involved in some kind of roadside accident and needed to get in touch urgently, or else they’d show up at my home to deal with it. I was driving at the time so told them I’d call back later. The woman insisted I contact them straight away, saying it was serious, otherwise they’d come round and take it further. After hanging up, I met up with some mates and told them what happened. They all thought it sounded dodgy and one suggested I check the number online. Turns out it’s a scam. I kept thinking about it, how I’d never been in any accidents, and if anything, maybe I’d got a speeding fine, but why would the police bother coming to my house? Definitely steer clear of this number +44 3300 563323. What’s worse, they even used my real name - totally freaky!

Got a voicemail from this number saying they were from the council. Later, I got a text asking me to pay council tax for a place I’ve never lived near. There were also a couple of other numbers, including a landline and some mobile ones linked to this scam. Here are the mobiles they used:
