Got a call from 03300529999. They asked for the MD by first name - which is actually mine, so I said ‘yes, this is he.’ They said they were calling for Birmingham Uni and doing some kind of survey. I didn’t really trust it, so I just ended the call straight away.

Someone said they were from CITB and asked if we were satisfied with their services and asked for company details. I hung up by mistake. I used to be with CITB so I phoned them to check if they hired anyone else for this. They told me definitely not. CITB have reported the number to their fraud department.

I’m with a call answering service and this bloke rang twise today on this number. Proper rude bloke, kept demanding to know where I am and where the company is. Also kept pushing for when the MD will be available to chat. Didn’t want to say what it was about at all, just plain unpleasant bloke.

In the space of just two days, our team has been inundated with four calls from this particular number. They assert they’re calling about some sort of Tax Relief and that they’re following up on a supposed request from our business. However, we’ve never made any such request!

Phoned asking for the Financial Director by her name, I told him she wasn't in (she's on holiday atm). When I asked who was calling, he just said, 'doesn't matter, I'll ring back later'. I asked again, 'can you tell me who you are please?' and then he just cut off. No chance he'll get through if he won't say who he is!

Got a call from someone wanting to speak to the manager, probably trying to sell me something. They were pretty pushy and wouldn't accept that the manager wasn’t available. Also, the guy kept breathing so heavily and had this grim mouth noise that made me feel a bit queasy. Honestly, felt a bit off after that phone call :(

Got a call from some engineering firm asking to talk to the director. When I asked what it was about, he said he wanted info on the machines we use but was really dodgy about why. As soon as I told him the director wasn’t available, he suddenly just hung up saying he'd try somewhere else. Somewhere else for what exactly? He never explained! Definitely seemed a bit fishy to me.

Seems like this number is linked to a bunch of different firms, some legit and others not so much. Checked another site and apparently this number’s also connected to Covid test kits, Birmingham City Council and BT.

At first I thought this number was one of those dodgy spam calls, but it turned out to be from a local council office. They were checking how Covid had impacted our business. They actually knew our company info already without me saying anything, and didn’t ask for any private info, just wanted to know how we’d been dealing with Covid and Brexit over the past year.

Eventually, I got through to a bloke I didn’t know who kept trying to squeeze personal details out of me but refused to say who he was. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Would advise anyone else to do likewise.

This number rang me earlier today, a bit after 10 in the morning. I didn’t notice my phone buzzing since I was asleep and it was in a different room. I only realised I missed the call when my phone made that little notification sound (it happened about three times within an hour). So, I had to check it out and sure enough, there was a missed call. From what folks are saying here, I’m glad I didn’t answer. Looks like this one’s going straight to the block list.

How do folks jump to thinking this number is linked to scams? It’s just a market research firm doing surveys for companies and the government. Sure, it took about 20 mins of my time, but I had the time to spare anyway. Getting to share your thoughts can be quite valuable, no? I get there’s plenty of scams around, but I don’t reckon this is one of them. Cut them some slack, they’re simply doing their job.

This person claimed to be calling from the government, wanting to ask a few questions about helping businesses through Covid 19. I told them I was tied up right now, and they said they’d ring back later. I told them again I’d still be busy then.

Got two calls this week warning me that some money was gonna be taken for an Amazon Prime subscription. Didn’t even bother hearing them out and just ended the call. I did have a look at my Amazon account though, since I had a free Prime trial a little while ago, but there was nothing showing any charge. That’s when I realised it had to be a scam.

They’re total scammers. Got their numbers saved and they’ve called a couple of times. I always let them ramble on with their awful spiel, then I ask for the company name and a contact number before going any further. Of course, they never give any info and there’s no way to ring them back. I end up wasting about 5 minutes of their time each call. They say they’re from the Government, but that’s a complete lie. Just a load of scammers out to scam you! Stay clear!

Just got a really pushy bloke on the phone asking about our company’s Brexit plans - I told him I’m just a Branch manager and can’t really say much, maybe he should try head office to chat with someone there. He then started twisting my words, claiming the business didn't wanna give any feedback or help, but I stayed calm and said I simply wasn’t authorised to speak on that. Then he just hung up on me. Honestly left me a bit rattled.

I received a rather disturbing call purportedly from Birmingham City Council. The chap on the other end was exceptionally pushy and rather impertinent. Had I not seen the number appear on my screen and been bombarded with his incessant inquiries, I might've fallen for his act. Do steer clear of this lot! Remarkably, he even provided me with another number-03300529999-claiming it belonged to the council. When I rang it, to my surprise, the person on the line did indeed say they were from Birmingham City Council. I can't fathom what they were after since I refused to divulge any of my personal information. It all felt very dodgy!

I received a call that claimed to be from Birmingham City Council, and let me tell you, the caller was incredibly pushy and downright rude. If I hadn't recognised the number on my phone and hadn't been bombarded with their incessant questioning, I might have actually fallen for it. It’s best to steer clear of this lot! They also provided me with another number (03303357174), which, when I called, the person on the other end answered as if they were from Birmingham City Council too. Honestly, I’ve no idea what they were fishing for, as I didn’t divulge any of my information, but it was clear that was their main agenda. Best to be cautious!

Got two calls from them in the same day, missed the first one but they rang back a few hours later. This bloke called Adam from Voice Mobile, started chatting about how brilliant his company is and threw around a few big client names they work with. Said something about being part of Daisy Communications too. Took ages to actually find out why he was calling. When he finally asked how many mobiles we use in the business, I said just one, and he basically just said, "Looks like there's nothing I can offer you then, cheers for your time."
