Got loads of calls from someone who was defo a scammer.

I picked up the phone and as soon as I did, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from the County Council, saying it was urgent to talk to a manager or owner. They said they were offering support for businesses running under 5 years with stuff like financial aid and growth advice. Total scam though, as the number didn’t match any official Council contact, plus they got our company name wrong. We’ve actually been trading for way more than 5 years anyway.

Called by someone claiming to be a commodity agent; they knew my name and the first part of my address! Offering to send investment portfolios with medium risk and moderate returns. I told them no thanks and to delete my info from their database, then blocked the number. It was a bloke, full of sales jargon and smooth talk. This definitely feels like a scam to me; best to block them, ask for your details to be removed, and maybe think about reporting it to the cops. That's my take!

Got a call from some guy claiming to be Matthew Adam, said he worked as a commodity broker. He even knew my first name. I just said bye and blocked the number straight away.

Some guy rang asking for my partner by first name. I said they weren’t here and asked if I could assist. He said he was Howard from Matthew Adam and would try again later. I asked what sort of business it was, and he said they were commodity brokers who’d sent info by post before. I knew that wasn’t right because as I repeated it, my partner mouthed “never heard of them.” I told him not to bother ringing again as my partner wouldn’t be interested in their services.

This number rang my son asking for his Dad, even though hes had that very same number - which belonged to his Dad in the first place - for nearly 15 years! The funny part is they called him in Canada, where he lives now! Every time they ring over these years, he’s had to tell them that number aint his dad’s! This was one of the calls I missed. They should of just said who they were, then maybe I’d have answered, or at least left a message. They didn’t do either. Any decent firm would’ve done that. To me, if someone won’t say their name or company, it feels like harassment and I just avoid them totally!
