I promptly corrected her, explaining that she had clearly got her wires crossed as I never made such a sponsorship offer. However, she continued to speak over me, insisting that she would be mailing an invoice shortly for a hefty amount-around £1400 or £1500. It felt like a blatant attempt to swindle people.
