Somebody rang claiming to be from British Gas, chatting about their much-publicised price hike. He tried to get me to set up a meeting with one of their gas advisors to possibly lower my bill. Sounded pretty legit but he never used my name and didn’t know anything about my gas usage. I said no thanks, but as I was about to hang up, I noticed it was a recorded message because even after I declined and said goodbye, it kept asking if I wanted to arrange an appointment with a gas advisor.

I picked up the phone and the bloke said he was calling on behalf of British Gas. Since I’m actually with Ovo, I wasn’t sure what he was after, so I just ended the call.
