2 yearsJust got a ring from +44 330 027 3311 about some Ford Diesel car compensation because I supposedly have a Ford. They even mentioned my old car’s registration number. Then they asked for my DOB, email, and home address, saying it was needed under GDPR rules. Claimed they’d post me some paperwork about the claim. Honestly, I wouldn't trust it one bit - smells like a total SCAM to me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number!Ford2 yearsThis number kept ringing me over and over, and I’m pretty sure it’s linked to some sort of scam about claims. Best thing to do is just block it and don’t bother answering. Be careful out there! It’s a good idea to learn a bit about social engineering tactics and watch out for any dodgy signs. If something feels weird, just trust your instincts.2 yearsI got a call from 0330 027 3311 today (07/10/24) about my car. They’d also tried ringing on Friday (04/10/24) from basically the same number but the last two digits were 10, also saying it was to do with my vehicle. They even mentioned my registration, which was a bit worrying. They claimed there was some kind of problem or claim but I’ve got no issues pending with my car, so I’m sure this is just a scam. I told them to leave me alone and stop calling.4 yearsBeware, this was a total scam! Someone rang me, claiming to be from the ‘housing disrepair team’, asking if my place had any mould or damp issues. They said if I sent photos of any damage, they'd send someone round to inspect and then supposedly speed up the repairs, which they’d charge to my landlord (problem is, I don’t even have a landlord!). The woman on the phone couldn’t really explain who’s paying for this or how it actually works, sounded like she was just reading off a script given to her. Definitely dodgy!4 yearsBeware of scams! If you get one of these dodgy calls, make sure you report it straight to the police fraud site. Just search for ‘action fraud’ or head over to ‘police.uk’. There, you can find the page to report phishing scams - give it a read to know what to do. Fill in all the details about the scam, don’t forget to add any links or web addresses you have. You don’t need to sign up or give any personal info, unless you’ve actually lost money through fraud. Reporting these shady calls and texts helps the police keep track of how many people are being targeted.Action Fraud4 yearsI've written a couple of posts with tips on how to block these scam calls once and for all. It's a bit of a hassle, but I've managed it myself and keep flagging scam calls and messages straight to the police using their reporting site (which I've bookmarked for ease). The thing is, it needs loads of folks to report these incidents before any action is taken. Thousands of people report scams daily here too. I got a reply from my MP which was quite insightful, but honestly, it’s gonna take more than just me pushing this before we see any proper change.4 yearsSomebody rang me saying they were from the housing disrepair team.4 yearskept ringing non stop, proper nuisance it was, got several calls from the same number over n over again, really annoying.4 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be from housing disrepair.
