They were ringing up to check if my place had any mould or damp problems.

Silent calls need to be reported just like any other scam calls. There was a bunch of info shared about it around 16 or 17 posts back from this one. By reporting them, we can help shield the more vulnerable people who might get tricked and maybe even cut down on the number of these dodgy calls we all get every day. Also, have a look at the police Action Fraud site and check out the latest news updates - pretty eye-opening and a bit worrying. REPORTING SCAMS IS KEY TO PUTTING AN END TO THEM!

They claimed I’d reported an issue with damp and mould. When I tried to get more info, they just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone claiming to check for mould and damp, but they wouldn’t say who they were or who made the “report”. Didn’t trust it, so I blocked the number.

Phone scam, best to just ignore it.

Got a call regarding my ‘housing problems’ and they asked if I had any mould, leaks or damp… I stayed quiet and they ended the call on their own. It’s definitely a scam and sounds like an AI doing the talking. Best not to answer at all.

They said there was an issue with my housing. Pretty sure it was a scam call.

We keep getting bombarded with these robbery attempts mainly ’cause hardly anyone bothers to report them to the police or Ofcom, even tho there’s a system made exactly for that. You can find info on how to report right down in the comments here. But truth is, most ignore it and the scammers just carry on without any punishment.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes, but if you check about three posts down from here, you’ll find details on 'how to report scam calls'. Calls from this number are definitely from fraudsters aiming to scam you. If more people who got calls from this number used this site to check it and then reported it to the police or Ofcom, it’d probably be blocked by now.

Got a call about supposed housing issues like damp and leaks, which I definitely don’t have. Sounds like a scam to me.

Kept ringing loads, didn't ask for it and most times just ended the call straight away.

Got a dodgy call on my phone from a posh sounding lady claiming to talk about my housing situation (which I don’t have btw!). She asked how I was doing, then launched into questions about damp and cracks in my place. I ended the call straight away and blocked the number. Definitely a scammer trying to get info.

Got a call and when I picked up, they said it was about issues with my home. I asked who they were, but instead they kept asking if I’d seen any signs of damp or mould inside. I soon sussed it was dodgy. Ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a dodgy call on my mobile from someone saying they were from ‘Housing Regulatory Services’ about housing issues I supposedly reported (never done that). I told him to buzz off but he kept pushing, asking if I had damp or any damage. I said it was a scam and hung up. Then, a few mins later, the same call came through on my landline from a different bloke. Lets just say, I wasn’t exactly friendly telling him to do one.

Got a call from some Indian call centre saying they were from housing repairs, but the bloke was all over the place and didn’t make much sense. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Sounds like one of those dodgy AI calls, barely made any sense. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

They didn’t say who they were right away, spoke with a really heavy accent (could barely make out what they were saying). Said they were ringing about my housing problems from the housing association and mentioned uk.gov. I asked where they got my number from, and they just went on about the housing stuff again. When I asked again how they got my number, they just cut me off. I’m renting privately and not registered with any council housing, so that was my first sign something was dodgy πŸ˜‚

Some bloke called himself Harry and said he was phoning about my housing problems. I've got no issues like that at all!! Ended the call straight away. Honestly, these folks should just sort themselves out and get a real job!

Someone saying they were 'Kevin' from the 'housing office' rang me about my 'housing problems'. Could be just a random wrong number or maybe a scam. They didn’t properly introduce themselves like you’d think for an official call, just kicked off with 'Hi, how are ya?' which felt a bit dodgy to me.
