Total SCAM. Got a call from some bloke called John about an emergency pendant thing. Said it was free, but then he mentioned 99 pence a day, which adds up to more than £360 a year! Heads up, looks like a scam with these Medical Alert Monitoring calls. The voice sounds like some kind of recorded English accent and there's a lag when you try to chat back. They’re really trying to grab your card info and push you into some sort of subscription. The trick they use is pretty smart, coz at first it’s hard to tell it’s not a real person. Got a call from someone claiming to be with the NHS, talking about a medical emergency alert or something like that. On Wednesday, the 2nd of March 2022, I had a rather unsettling phone call today. The caller didn't bother to introduce himself or clarify the purpose of his call, nor did he mention which organisation he represented. Such behaviour is not only discourteous but quite unprofessional. He proceeded to ask me about personal health matters. I repeated my inquiries regarding his identity and whether he was affiliated with the Health Service or another entity, but he completely disregarded my questions. After some time, I chose to terminate the call. Based on our conversation, it seemed as though he was attempting to peddle an emergency pendant. When I pressed him on where he had obtained my contact information, he simply replied that it came from local organisations.
