Got a call about loft insulation that’s apparently backed by the government - had some wall insulation done not too long ago. Living in an old stone cottage from about 1606, I was certain it was a con. I’ve blocked the number through BT now.

I've seen this number in my BT call history, but it never actually rang. Makes me think BT has it on their blacklist or something. Also, I usually block all calls from outside the UK, so that might be why.

They didn’t bother to leave any voicemail or anything.

A bloke called asking about loft insulation, but my wife explained we've already got it done. Without any warning, he just hung up on her, such bad manners!

Oh great, another one of those calls! This time some guy named Tom ringin' about a so-called government insulation deal. Got that muppet on the line a bunch now. Wasn't up for the palaver this morning, so I gave him a proper earful and told him off pretty bluntly!

Had a very similar call from a bloke who claimed he was fresh on the job. When I asked more, he said his boss would ring back to sort out the survey and answer any questions. He wouldn’t say the name of the company he was with, something about loft insulation and mould. At one point I put the phone down because I thought he’d hung up, but he was just slow replying. Honestly, I’m quite certain it was dodgy and a bit of a scam.

Like many others, I had a similar experience with loft installation companies. It's baffling how they manage to operate like this without consequences. Even being registered with TPS doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Just like a few others here, someone called saying they were from “Tom” about installing a loft. Once I told them I never got a loft done, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a bloke named Tom about my loft insulation being dodgy. I humoured him for a while just to mess about and when he wanted to know how thick the insulation was over my loft hatch, I told him I don’t even have a loft hatch since I’m in a chalet bungalow. I then asked what the deal was with the whole thing, and he just cut off straight away.

Received a call from someone mentioning loft insulation like it was recently installed at my place. When I asked how they knew about it (which I definitely haven’t done), the bloke just said his manager would ring me later. Then, bang - the phone just went dead!

Got a call earlier today at 16:41 from 03300271072 but no one spoke. I checked out this site for info. Could it be the same lot behind the 01202081189 number that rang me back on 26/9/2019? I had to block that one.

I got a call from this same number that gave me a silent ring a couple of days back. When I answered, there was just silence, then a shaky voice came on with a weird message about my loft insulation being dangerous and needing an inspection. I told them the Council had just checked it not long ago, but they didn’t seem to listen. It almost sounded like a robotic recording. They said their manager would ring me in about 15 minutes to set up the inspection, but I never got another call.

They've tried ringing me twice within 30 minutes and both times ended the call as soon as I answered. I'm on edge now, waiting to see if they call again so I can finally figure out who they are and report it to the coppers!

It keeps ringing me twice daily, and it's becoming quite the irritation!

Received a couple of calls from a bloke called Tom claiming the loft insulation we supposedly got through some help scheme is causing mould damage in homes. When I asked questions, he said he was new and promised his manager would ring back to clear things up. He wanted to arrange a free inspection for the issue. Thing is, we never took part in any scheme for insulation (we sorted it ourselves years ago and had it inspected not long ago). I told him I wasn’t interested and blocked the number.

I received a call from a chap who introduced himself as Tom, claiming to be ringing from the HMRC scheme regarding the insulation recently installed at my property. Naturally, I queried, “Oh really? And when exactly was this done?” To which he promptly ended the call! It seems like he was banking on me being a bit forgetful, clearly trying to pull a fast one. What a cheek!

I got a call from someone named Tom. Oddly enough, I’d just bought something off Ebay that same day, like a few others here mentioned. Just as he started saying, “Hi, this is Tom from,” the call suddenly dropped.

Just to add on from my previous message about Tom checking in about a phone call I apparently had, does this sound familiar to anyone else? About 30 minutes before the call, I’d actually placed an order with a seller on eBay. Could be nothing, but I’m getting a bit suspicious. Has anyone else noticed something like this happening?

They keep switching numbers all the time. You block one and then they just call from another. Best thing to do is just keep blocking every new one that pops up.

I got two calls from 03300271072 on the 15th October 2019, both coming less than half an hour apart. Every time I answered, nobody spoke on the other end. The oddest part was the first call - it actually froze my cordless phone so bad I had to take the batteries out just to hang up and get it working again!

Got a call from someone named Tom, saying it was about loft insulation they'd put in. Thing is, I don't have a loft in my flat at all. Seemed dodgy, probably trying to scam me. Told him to take my details off their list and then ended the call.

I received a call purporting to be from Switzerland, with the purpose of peddling skincare and shaving products. I made it clear from the outset that I wasn't keen, yet she persisted relentlessly, so I decided to humour her with some rather nonsensical replies. She found some of my bizarre comments amusing, but that didn’t deter her from sticking to her script. In the background, I could faintly hear a colleague coaching her on what to say next. Eventually, it was revealed that the product would set me back £74, delivered straight to my door, alongside a five-day free trial. After what felt like an eternity of over nine minutes, she finally grasped that I wasn't biting.

Got a call from some bloke named Tom claiming he was ringing back from ‘Langham Boiler Installations’ or something like that. He was going on about a boiler upstairs, but we don’t even have one. When I asked who he’d spoken to previously, he just ended the call straight away. Quite weird really.

I got this number calling me but all I heard was silence. After reading what others said, looks like they’re probably pushing you to renew some sort of appliance insurance, even if you don’t actually have one. Quite cheeky if you ask me.

Never hand over your bank details to strangers. Scammers usually try to rush you into revealing your bank info so they can nick the cash from your account. Always keep those details private and only share them if you’re certain about the company and understand why they need it.

I was met with nothing but silence when I answered, and before I knew it, they’d already ended the call.
