Today, 16 May 2026, this number rang me a couple of times but I didnt pick up. Ive started checking these numbers out since ive been getting loads of calls recently with both mobiles and landlines being targeted for number collecting. Seems like its still in use.

This number rang me about 5:50pm on 2nd May 2023. The person said it was about some new government rules on care home charges. I told them I wasn’t interested in any options they might have and politely thanked them before hanging up. I’ve since blacklisted the number.

I picked up and no one said a word. Sounds like the caller's just checking if the number is actually in use and if someone picks up. Usually, these calls are made so they can collect a list of active numbers, which they then sell as a verified database. Apparently, having confirmed that someone answers each number makes this list more valuable to whoever’s buying it.
