My 87 year old mum just got scammed out of £250 by these lot - it's ridiculous they're still doing this! We really need to find a way to put a stop to it. If anyone’s got any suggestions, please share!

Totally a rip-off. Seeing all these reviews, I'm convinced this is just a scam. They've tried ringing my nan and my dad more than four times, all about this so-called 'final payment' - just like everyone’s saying about those last four digits being 'rejected'. What a load of rubbish. The bloke, calling himself 'Justin', was pretty polite and sounded real smooth, it’s a shame he can’t find a proper job, honestly feels a bit sad for him. Make sure you give a heads-up to your old folks or grandparents so they don’t get caught out by this nonsense.

Pretty much the same thing happened to my 83 year old mother in law. They swiped £260 from her bank and all she got were two of the most rubbish little gadgets you can imagine. Honestly, it’s just sickening!!

My nan got a call from this number spouting the same story. I rang them back and they weren’t too pleased with what I told them. Watch out, everyone 😡

Today my brother, who’s quite vulnerable, got a call from this number. The caller claimed they had his payment info and said he’d already agreed to buy a call blocker for £124.99. They kept pushing him to give his card details and unfortunately, he did. Even though he kept telling them he didn’t want the call blocker, they just said it was too late and hung up on him. Sure enough, £124.99 was debited from his account. I’ve talked to the Visa fraud team and he’s getting a new card issued. It’s really upsetting how some companies take advantage of people like this.

My grandma got a call from someone called Sean at Home Guardian, telling her she had missed a final payment. She ended the call quickly since she knows her accounts well. Then, he left a really nasty voicemail about how her friends and family wouldn’t like being hung up on, and neither would he! I couldn’t let it slide, so I rang him back to tell him to stop bothering us. After checking this number online, I found out it’s a scam, so I warned him next time I’d report it to the police. Watch out, everyone! They even try to get your bank card info and cause stress for old folks like my nan.

Got a call about a supposed last payment of £124 for lifetime call blocking, saying my last 4 card digits were declined. They asked for my new card info. I told 'em I'd ring back after looking over my documents. I couldn’t find any proof I’d already paid, so I looked up the number 03300245978 online and it turned out to be a scam.

This awful company kept ringing up my elderly mum just after my dad passed away, with my sister around the house. A bloke called "Jamie" claimed my mum's card declined a last payment of £124.99 and threatened to send a debt collector if it wasn’t sorted. I phoned them back the next day, making sure my number was hidden, and this guy couldn't even tell me the property address, the phone number they were supposedly protecting, or give me a proper ID. When I asked for a contract copy, he said data security rules stopped him sending one! When I told him I knew it was a scam and warned I'd tell the police if there were more calls, he just tried to brush it aside. I've since told my mum to just hang up straight away if they ring, especially as she'd already paid them a similar amount last year.

On the 13th of January 2017, my mum got a call from this number where she spoke with someone called 'Alexander Scott' who claimed to be from Home Guardian in Bournemouth. He sounded quite polite and convincing. They told her she owed a final fee of £124.99, adding that she’d already paid £89.99 last year. Sadly, my mum gave them her card details after they assured her that they didn't keep her info from the previous payment. I've told her to cancel her card immediately because this feels like a total scam. The price they quoted is way higher than what other companies charge. When mum asked if BT couldn’t block the calls, Alexander said BT pretended to help but secretly charged fees. Ironically, BT have now started helping her block the numbers for free. Now we’re just waiting to see if anything gets taken from her bank account, and if it does, how much it will be.

Got a call from someone named Saffron saying I owed a final payment. I didn't hand over my card info without checking who they really were. Still digging around to see if they're legit.

Today, I answered the phone at my mum’s place and some home security company said they needed a last payment of £124.99 for call blocking. I didn’t know she’d paid them earlier this year already, but the woman on the line claimed they’d stopped 78% of the calls. I asked why she was still getting calls every day then. She said they can’t block them all, especially those coming from overseas. I told her my mum’s quite old and I thought they were taking advantage, and that no more payments would be made. Watch out, this smells like a proper scam - just another of those annoying nuisance calls!

My mum got a phone call from someone called Sean, who claimed she had an outstanding balance of £124.99 to pay. When I asked him to email or post something in writing to prove it, he said he couldn't because the debt was overdue. He also mentioned that since she’s a ‘valued’ customer, they’d send her a mobile phone once the payment was made. I’m really hesitant to let her give out her bank info on the phone without some kind of proof this isn’t a con.

Today my mother-in-law got a call from someone claiming to be Alexander. He didn’t stay on the 02 number though; instead, he gave me a different phone number to call since I handle her money matters. I've already blocked that original 02 number, so at least that’s sorted.

Got a call from someone named Alex claiming I owed money for blocking calls, saying if I didn't pay they'd pass it onto some debt collection agency. When he requested my card info, I said that if it was a genuine renewal, they’d already have that on file. He then gave me a number which wasn’t mine, so I just ended the call (the number he used was 07493946593). After that, he had the nerve to ring back four more times, threatening to involve debt collectors. My missus told him to ring again tomorrow once we’d checked any paperwork, curious to see if he actually does.

This number rang up my mum who’s a bit older, and some bloke called "Alexander" was on the line asking about a last payment she supposedly owed. Luckily, my mum’s pretty sharp and just told him to chat with me instead since I handle all her money stuff. Seems like a dodgy scam trying to trick older folks into handing over cash!

My 83 year old mother-in-law got a call from this number, saying she needed to renew her Home Guardian contract with a £124.99 fee. She told them no money would be paid until her financial power of attorney was consulted. Then they threatened to send a debt collector if payment wasn't made! I asked why her nuisance call filter isn't blocking these calls but the woman just hung up on me. I called back and some bloke said she was already on the line. He laughed at me when I complained about the poor service and when I asked for a manager, he claimed to be the manager himself! After I kept arguing, he said her phone line never even had the nuisance filter activated. Luckily I was there to stop this company trying to scam an elderly lady. I'm so furious this happened at all.

On Wednesday afternoon, I got a phone call about renewing the "Home Guardian" contract. They mentioned a final renewal fee but said coverage would keep going without any added costs, and I'd also be sent a mobile phone. The caller said his name was Alexander.
