I received a phone call earlier today inquiring about our meter reading and our address, as well as when it would be most convenient to come round and take the reading.

This morning, I was jolted awake by a phone call. Just as I picked up the receiver, my phone's battery decided to give up on me. So, I dialled 1471 to trace the number.

They called about some Anti Social behaviour happening around here. Asked for contact info of the company directors but we told them we don’t share that kind of stuff. Sounded really fishy. When we called back, they just repeated the same thing but it didn’t seem right, bit all over the place. With what everyone else’s been saying about this number, I’m certain it’s a scam.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be from npower, telling me to put my energy meter reading on a site that didnt even have npower in the web address. Ive never even used their service. Definitely fishy. I’d say dont pick up or just hang up straight away.

Got a call from someone pretending to be the metropolitan police, saying they want to feature our marketing product in the uxbridge Magazine meant for children’s support and asking for £295 plus VAT. Definitely a scam!

I received a call today, the 15th of January, 2018. They dropped a message on my voicemail claiming to be from nPower, urging me to get in touch to verify my appointment for a smart meter installation. The thing is, I'm not a customer of nPower and I've certainly not asked for a smart meter.

Got a call from a lady with a British accent who told me the last bit of my postcode and asked for the first part, which I gave but didn’t really understand why she needed it. She claimed to be from my energy company and gave a name, said it was for a meter reading and that they do it twice a year or something like that. This happened around 6.55pm, I think I ended the call early. They haven’t called or messaged since. I've blocked the number now.

The number belongs to Lowri Beck. I received a voicemail from them requesting that I provide my gas and electricity meter readings to 0845 7023461. However, they failed to mention who my energy supplier is! They asked me to either call the number and give my readings along with my postcode and house number, or to send the details through their website at www.myreading.net. While their request might be genuine, I can’t help but feel uneasy. It would be rather courteous of my energy supplier to notify me that they’ve employed a third party to handle this. Until that happens, I’m not about to share any of my information. I mean, my supplier could easily send me an email and let me submit my readings directly through their official site, not one controlled by Lowri Beck!

The number is linked to Lowri Beck. They left a voicemail asking me to provide my gas and electric readings by calling 0845 7023461, but never mentioned who my supplier actually is! They wanted me to ring and give my readings, postcode, and house number, or submit it through their website at [#]myreading[###]. This might be legit, but until my supplier has the decency to tell me they've hired a third party to handle this, I'm not sending anything. Feels dodgy to me since my supplier could just email me directly and let me send readings via their own website, not some site run by Lowri Beck!
